I wouldn't expect him to be a high midcarder now, but at the very least, he shouldn't be bad fodder anymore.

As a long time casual fighting game fan, Terry Bogard in Street Fighter is wild.

I still think I’d take Guile.

20% in Sonic in 04 is a better than 25% on Kirby in 18, which was before he was in Smash. I'd feel quite good picking Terry.

Me saying Guile > Terry is a total gut pick, without looking at actual data. I can't argue against the numbers. I just think that if you put Guile and Terry side by side, Guile would get more votes.

I don't think Guile is particularly well liked, so he'd have to get by on recognition. Now that Terry is in Smash and Street Fighter, I don't think that will work for him.

Terry being stronger than Guile feels strange to me because Guile himself is weaker in reality than he is in my head. So Smash might be enough to put Terry over Guile.

When in doubt, consult the Smash Bros hierarchy. Playable Character > Assist Trophy, so Terry wins this.

The Xenoblade 2 and Smash Bros. boosts would eventually cancel each other out for their rematch in 2018.

But there was no TheStupidRaptor in 2004, which may be one of the most hilarious meltdowns for an early round match we've ever seen on Board 8.

Tails gets into the win column for the first time in another debated round 1 match with Viewtiful Joe.

Believe it or not, this was a heavily debated match. Tails was looked at as a loser (not quite to the extent of GFNW, of course), and Viewtiful Joe was a hot game at the time.

Wonder how much Tails wins this by now.

It feels shocking to see Tails struggle that much with Viewtiful Joe.

Yeah, this win over Viewtiful Joe was his only win until he added those two in 2018.

Does HK-47 show up in any games other than KOTOR? I guess I don't even know what happens to him in that game.

I think he's also in the sequel, as well as The Old Republic.

Unfortunately, yes. He and Revan got unceremoniously killed off in the MMO's launch version. Fan outcry led to them being brought back in expansions. I think.

What would be really cool is if we had a tinyurl type of link that had a 25% chance of sending you to Sora vs. HK-47.

And don’t forget that most agreed that both would beat Sora with ease, so this match was worth 3 points in a predictable bracket, unless your name was Zylo the Wolf who picked Frog > Snake, Sonic > Samus and Sephiroth to win it all.

Yeah but you know what else people softened on? Twilight Princess. Yeah it wasn't as much but people were initially more split on it too.

These days people probably think 8.8 is too generous a rating for Twilight Princess.

I think TP has been pretty consistent. It would still beat WW, but is never coming close to the N64 games or BotW.

Would Zelda 1 beat WW or TP?

I would take WW and TP over Zelda 1 directly, but there are probably opponents I would consider taking Zelda 1's potential over that I wouldn't consider taking WW and TP over.

They’re both bad games.

Even for gamefaqs Zelda 1 is kind of too old to be a real elite and it doesn’t have the benefits of Mario 1’s ridiculous playrate, singular status in gaming, or All-Stars version.
