always felt like Trump was like L Block. At first his results were only
so-so and were taking advantage of his hardcore support to stay alive
in multi way polls. But, his power grew over time until he was strong
enough to start winning. Due to all the mailed ballot counting timing, I
think he even had L Block like trends in some states this year. My bracket looked like random picks compared to his. Congrats to azuarc for winning the GotD 2020 Guru Contest! |

bracket) and then lost to a bunch of lamer dudes in the battle royale. Azuarc is my favorite arc of the Game of the Decade 2020 anime. |

However, the Xbox One's all-time highest ownership was 27.71% back on 7/3/2019. Xbox One also had a launch day ownership of 4.50%, so today's result for Xbox Series X/S is actually slightly better despite being rather early in the poll so far. I'd take Garrus' performance against Sub-Zero over Wrex's performance against Cecil in 2013. Of course, Mass Effect is a lot weaker by the time the 2018 contest came around. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. It's also notable how stable the gaming console/handheld market has become. The last big change was the introduction of the Xbox and Sega dropping out. Sony entering the handheld market was pretty big too and that happened 15 years ago. I mean, what was the best selling console/handheld over the last 20 years, the N-Gage? With VR becoming more popular we could see Oculus/Valve shake things up. Congratulations to azuarc for winning the guru challenge |

Now that we've gotten ownership polls for both the Xbox Series X/S and the PS5, I can now talk about the results in more detail. Xbox Series X/S finished with an ownership of 6.01%, which is a clear improvement over Xbox One's launch day ownership of 4.50%. It was likely that the Xbox Series X/S would have ended up with better launch day ownership than the Xbox One because the site was still in full-on Microsoft hate mode at the time and we've had 7 years for that to die out considerably. As well as Microsoft being able to turn around their brand image after the initial reveal of the Xbox One. PlayStation 5 finished with an ownership of 8.18%, which ends up being a step down from PlayStation 4's launch day ownership of 8.48%. Even worse about this performance is that PS4's launch day ownership was for North America only, since it was released in Europe 2 weeks later and other regions got it even later than that. PS5 doesn't look quite as bad as this performance might suggest, because Xbox Series X/S fared better than the Xbox One in terms of launch day ownership. Very few people are willing to jump on board with getting both consoles at launch, especially during a global pandemic. It seems very likely the PS5 lost some of its potential launch day ownership from people choosing to buy the Xbox instead. As dumb as it sounds, I never thought of this before. I've always figured PS/Xbox players are always very jealous of their brands.
