was a Dungeons and Dragon's quest pack called Dragon Quest already and
TSR owned the rights to the name. When that expired in 2003, Square-Enix

I dunno if FFVII Remake did much. It was obviously well-received
enough to keep the series relevant, but the previous time this poll was
held was like a year after BOTW's release. People complaining about SJWs are such hypocrites when they're just as easily offended, if not moreso. |
It has very clearly helped. Pretty sure we've seen that BotW love has not waned. |
Yeah I get the feeling it's only really a vocal minority that hates FFVII Remake. Looks like at least ONE fanbase is fine with "subverting expectations". People complaining about SJWs are such hypocrites when they're just as easily offended, if not moreso. |

The analogy was for the entire trilogy! (because I expect it to be a trilogy) To expound, FFVIIR-1 is probably always going to be the best because Midgar is the most iconic part of the game, the part they probably touched (besides expansion) the least. I highly suspect a very divergent plotline as we go further along, one that will reveal itself to be more and more controversial (ie. stupid and terrible). (edited 7/14/2020 10:10:40 AM) |

agree with you if you're just trying to say that FFVIIR-1 will be a
strong contest entrant regardless. But I don't think it would be
entirely unaffected if its sequels are poorly received either. That's
just how people are. |
Oh,
if the others flop, it'll damage the overall brand, but it will also
make the one good one stand out more. It's how people convince

stop talking about Star Wars here. I can't friggin' get over the fact
that both the prequels and sequels trilogies are some of the most
massively underrated things ever. The original Star Wars trilogy is basically the Gen 1 of Pokémon -- massively loved (and rightfully so), but the later installments just made the franchise even better. azuarc - Good friend, VGM lover, Guru Champion. I pass my baton on to you! |

hardcore Paper Mario fanbase prefers TTYD. I imagine the general
Nintendo fanbase would lean the original. Origami King finishes 3rd
because the others are either outright hated or just too divisive. |

honestly remember surprisingly little of Episode IX. I think it's
because everything happens at breakneck speed so I didn't have time to
process anything. |

also the fact that the plot, characters, settings and main villain
don't make any f***ing sense, and it's basically just 2 hours of
non-stop special effects circle jerking Props to azuarc, the current Guru of the Decade. Wear this title with pride! |

only character I wasn't fond of in Episode IX was C3PO. The movie tried
to pander older fans of the saga, and the character felt too archaic,
