Pretty sure it was and we all assumed it meant bonus matches, so we were disappointed when nothing happened.

Starting with the Smash Ultimate/Mario Odyssey match day and the regular poll that happened on April 22nd, the broken poll maps have been fixed. This includes the mistakes with Geolocation tracking for the US states, but it also fixed an issue that caused votes to be assigned to countries like North Korea and random countries in Africa. Once the poll maps were fixed, we stopped getting votes from countries like North Korea, Central African Republic, Benin, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and a few other countries besides that.

I was already pretty skeptical of the votes we were getting from North Korea, treating it as a "too good to be true" moment. North Korea and Central African Republic are notable for being countries that have not recorded a single vote in any poll prior to the poll map tracking errors. I was also able to determine that the poll map tracking errors started happening in Poll 7897, which was also the first poll to get a vote from Central African Republic (which we know is not accurate). A significant increase in votes from country code "XO" was first noticed in Poll 7897, with that poll having a minimum of 63 votes for country code "XO".

Was this fixed or will those polls always have incorrect Geolocation results?

Those polls still have the incorrect Geolocation results, but I will try to talk with Allen about getting the affected polls fixed. He did make a post saying that the proper vote locations were being recorded, so that gives me hope that the affected polls can be fixed.

In our defense, I'm not sure how many people had that much confidence in Skyrim. It's the finalist favorite from the south end of the bracket, but Witcher 3 isn't far behind. Even for the people who took it to the finals, there was a ton of consideration, and many of us ultimately stuck with Skyrim not out of tremendous confidence, but because it was significantly stronger than Witcher 3 and Dark Souls back in 2015, and role reversals like that are always a tough gamble.

HGSS is putting up poor votals right now, it's getting cut badly. NieR pretty level.

Man, I wish Pokemon had about 400 votes less so this be compelling.

I'm not completely sure that the rally is actually the reason for the comeback that is currently in progress. It could just as easily be natural trends at work, and I expected Nier to make a move during the night vote as Pokemon is known for having a poor night vote (and morning vote to a lesser extent).

The overall vote intake doesn't look much different from yesterday, which was about as rally-free as it gets. This is just natural trends, with NieR being a bit popular in non-UK Europe probably helping out a little bit.

come on people. move nier into the lead. I can't afford another loss.

Like how they usually start with "I don't eat meat, but you can eat whatever you want" and then years later "hurrrrr how dare you eat animals! you murderder! screw you for eating corpses!!"

It started with "I don't mind Pokemon after gen 3, I didn't play them, it's cool" and it turned to "f*** Pokemon past gen 3. They don't exist. HGSS has no reason to be in the bracket"

The previous discussion had nothing to do with what the outcome of Witcher/Skyrim would look like, if the match takes place. (I would guess Witcher wins it, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if Skyrim won.)

It had to do with people writing off Skyrim as a 3rd-rate game that wouldnt even pass Round 3 , instead losing to Nintendo annual rehashes like MK8 (which it’s not) and Heart Gold, etc.

I don’t think its performance is that weak. This board just has a hate boner against it for some odd reason, and voted heavily against it in the first hour. It’s recovered during the time frame when nintendo’s target age group is mostly asleep.

Ports and remakes should not have been allowed. They’re not original games.

Woke up, checked the results.
I did picked Skyrim to reach the finals but until the last day I had Witcher 3. So why I did that? Not sure. Pretty sure unless a major rally happens Withcer 3 got that.
Also damn rallies! Let my pokmenaz win!

Resident Evil 2 is fine, just Persona 4 and Pokémon I don't really know.

It’ll be out next round. And that match will serve as a good litmus test for how much a straight remake is punished for being that. Nobody expects Skyrim to have gotten stronger so how far above 52% it goes (if it does) will be telling.

On that subject, don’t think Skyrim is significantly weaker than 2015 based on what we have seen - there is no way in which Journey isn’t going to be far above its 2015 strength days after it becomes free for everyone. Around a third of the site has a PS4 but no PS+, and I’d say most hadn’t played Journey, not to mention those with PS+ that missed it. And of course, it was just a big PR boost for the game on the whole. Of course, the issue Skyrim faces is that the top tier of the 2010s is a lot more crowded than it was in 2015.

And I doubt the rallies have had that much of an impact.

Xenoblade Chronicles
Winner of Mass Effect 2 vs. Resident Evil 2, or TLoU

That’s a majority for games released in the second half of the decade, and two of the games from the first half found their popularity later. This really was a decade of two halves.

Pokemon couldn't at least. Melee could, it just wasn't enough.

The Pokemon fanbase is awful imo. It seemed like they were just disliking RBY flat out, the game that set the preceedings for their favorite games.
