Funny how Shulk or the game have never won a match.

until now... also the game isnt going to have strong characters. Its like a ffx or ff6. Game is stronger than the characters

Without the hype surrounding the remaster there's no way it does this well.

this isnt a new game. People already know xenoblade is good. So the hype is based on playing a remake/remaster of an already existing great game. This isnt xenoblade 3

Yes, and I've seen tons of excitement from the existing fanbase happy it's coming to Switch as well as people excited to finally get to play it for the first time. Hype isn't restricted to how new it is.

Alright 0/2 today means a drop all the way down to 14 in the guru. I absolutely need RDR > Portal + NieR > Pokemon or I have no chance. Winning is already out the window because of Dark Souls, but somewhere in the top 10 would be cool.

its people like you and leon who have consistently tried to underplay this game from the beginning. Now youre trying to make up excuses. Admit it. Most people were wrong about the games strength

certain games just get stronger over time. Xenoblade is clearly one of them. Its just grown to have more respect than it did.

andyone who has played xenoblade or was around when it came out knows how big of a deal it was. There were massive petitions to bring this game to America. Its gone through a lot.

Quite a few people getting 0/2 today, I'd imagine.

DIvision 4 should've faced Persona 5 in the last 8.

At least I have Xenoblade in R4. Oh, GTA.

I get the feeling that P4G might have caught a bandwagon after upsetting RDR, but even then GTAV should not have been in a position to lose this going off of the stats we have. I'd probably still take GTAV over RDR but obviously we should never pick GTA over an RPG if it's debatable. I thought P4G would stink up the joint pre-contest because it's a port and because I know nothing about and have no interest in that series.

Either way it's obvious GTAV has declined greatly since 2015. Really should have known since I don't like a lot of what I've heard about GTAV over the years. I feel like the game has been hit by hype backlash pretty bigtime.

There's a lot of JRPGs that are beloved but still suck in these contests:
Trails in the Sky
Skies of Arcadia
Persona 3
Tales of Berseria/Vesperia
Pokemon Gens 3 and 5
Radiant Historia hasn't even gotten in a contest and probably never will at this point

It takes more than just being beloved to be strong, and we were surprised that Xenoblade found that strength while others did not.

Xenoblade has gotten a ton of hype that those games have never gotten. Including getting a playable character in Smash!

It might as well be the Earthbound of the 2010s at this point.

Also Skies of Arcadia is around the fodder line, which is WAY better than where Vyse himself is. Poor guy.

I get that but even many GTA fans have their quibbles with V from what I can tell. Some have even retroactively come to appreciate IV as a result.

Like, from what I can tell the consensus is that GTAV has the best gameplay in the series but otherwise, like you don't get much money for doing missions unlike in previous games, the characters have gotten flack for being unlikable even by GTA standards, and there are even negative stereotypes of gamers. Admittedly none of that sounds THAT bad but still.

I knew RDR was more powerful than GTA

I've never seen someone jerk themselves off in the stats topic about how much they love some obscure JRPG quite as much as Yuri.

I'm usually against blocking people because it's for crybaby manchildren, but I'm honestly considering it given how little value he adds with the sheer volume of his posts.

You see there's your problem. Xenoblade hasn't been obscure for years, if it ever really was.

It was obscure when it was Europe-only and Nintendo was refusing to bring it over. It took the internet raging at them for that, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower to all get moved.

Strictly speaking what actually did it was the game smashing expectations in Europe, something we can still see in these very polls!

However, I can’t see a game like Pandora’s Tower ever coming over without Operation Rainfall.

I'm a little salty how a Tales game lost to an indie game and meanwhile a Persona game is beating the second-highest selling game ever

Reggie never gave in to Mother 3 demands, but Xenoblade too stronk

I'm honestly fine with whatever outcome on any of these matches. Xenoblade and Three Houses are both wonderful games, Persona (well SMT in general) is probably my favorite franchise, period, and while i haven't liked GTAV as much as, say Vice City or San Andreas it was leagues better than 4 and i'm also kinda biased because i've been hooked on GTARP for the past year. NoPixel is very fun to watch.

Let's see if the day vote manages to overturn this result (I don't know about GTA trends at all).

I feel from the amount of jokes Reggie has made about Mother 3, if it was up to him he would have released it. That was no doubt a NCL decision.

I think we’ll see it one day though. We got the original after all, though granted that was done and there were even cartridges of the English version.

I don't think GTA is cutting consistently enough for it to win, even though it technically has enough time.

If GTA can repeat what it did during the last 3 hours it can win, but chances are that trend doesn't last all day.

So looking at tomorrow for Witcher 3, I think it reaching the low-mid 60s against SMG2 would keep it on pace for it to reach the final.

I have to imagine Witcher won't look quite as dominant against Mario as it did the first two rounds unless it catches a rally, but the match probably comes to about a 60-40 in its favour.

I mean that's just how the dice fell. Tales has had a lot of missteps over the years to prevent it from reaching the heights it could have.

Following up it's most popular entry on a console not known for jRPGs with one of its worst entries on a console that WAS known for JRPGS in Legendia.

Abyss right after is a masterpiece, but it's frontloaded with a lot of stuff that, incorrectly, turned people off.

Vesperia is great but was locked on a console even LESS associated with the genre, and a bunch of people missed it.

The Xillia and Graces years were heavily unpromoted, series was being treated like it was Gust tier.

They make a much bigger push in marketing for Zesteria, except WHOOPS, it's generally considered the worst game in the franchise, or second worst.

Berseria absolutely KILLS it in quality, but both the publisher and the consumers were still spooked by Zesteria and the games marketing and sales take a hit as a result.

We can only hope Arise, which has been lying low but will likely be heavily promoted and looks like it's getting a LOT of attention put into it, can revitalize the franchise. The word of mouth on Berseria is so strong that it's got some good will going into it, too.
