It was a breath of fresh air after the dumpster fire that were the 4-way contests

I don't have a problem with the fourways, they just outstayed their welcome a bit. Some classic matches and moments, and much more fun to predict than the three ways. Also GotD followed a 1v1 Character Battle.

The 2007 Character Battle was fantastic. 2008 was largely unmemorable to me. 2009 Games Contest could've been better if we hadn't had divisions by era again.

Just a few notes..

Last night's late start was caused by a system configuration failure that went unnoticed until 7PM Pacific due to said system configuration failure. It didn't just affect the contest, either. Either way, the late start did not give either game an advantage, so the voting will still end at 5PM Pacific.

Been monitoring the votes as per usual. The overnight spike for Bloodborne was entirely organic, mostly driven by mobile voters coming in from reddit. Nothing suspicious happening.

Finally, we're going to try to get our broken maps fixed up today. We've been recording proper vote locations, but the mapping has been broken. Apologies for the inconvenience.

We'll open it up after the end of this round. If you want to get a head start, preliminary design is that you create the 240x120 background and then the logos will be in the lower outside corner until selected. That is to say, don't put the logo in the image as we'll be doing that.

I legitimately bought Photoshop in part because of picsmith love. It’s some subscription service now but it’s so worth it.

So all are fine then? Well since one match is way too close 2 hours seem to be really huge though right? Eh whatever.

What Sailor Bacon should do is block all votes that were referred from Reddit. Make it look like the vote went through, but actually just throw it away.

It's hard to say if one side benefit more than the other.

Looking at this poll, https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/7853-how-often-do-you-visit-gamefaqs we can estimate that around 1000 votes were lost due to people visiting once a day and not returning. Likely less as people may be more willing to return to vote for the contest.

Is this the new Crono vs. Mario and LSD?

The reocurring comments on these Reddit threads about games from different genres facing each other hurt my head. Yes, if you want to be game of the decade, you kinda have to beat other games from other genres!

There are some similarities, but the board was way crazier those days.

Not to mention Crono/Mario's craziness was that Crono seemingly had an insurmountable lead with like 2 hours to go and Mario somehow managed to win (aided by the poll being open for longer than 24 hours).

When you're talking close wire to wire matches, the go to example will always be CT/LttP.
