A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's extrapolated percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

I think I'd pick Kirby to win by similar numbers as Alucard did then.

10 years ago, I'd have picked Kirby to win by more.

They both faced Bowser and Alucard did slightly better.

It always amazed me how much this site loved Alucard in the early 2000s. I mean, SotN wasn't THAT popular back then and Alucard was only an optional character in CV3.

Him beating Tails, Post-Melee Kirby, etc. is still kinda baffling.

Also, clicking through those later round matches in SC2K3...holy blowouts! Take away Mario/Crono and Link/Cloud, and the entire 2nd half of that contest is a snooze-fest. I remember 2K3 being more fun than that.

I assume you by second half mean the final three rounds, because Mario vs Crono was nothing like a snooze-fest.

Next set of matches are pretty easy
The only one I am doubting is Mario Kart 8 > Final Fantasy XIV

If i get that MK8 pick right i may have a leaderboard shot if RE2 comes in for me.

I unfortunately know a ton about FF14, because I've lost multiple friends to it and it's the only thing they do now. Even when I get to spend time with them they are literally never doing anything else but playing the game, so I've seen about as much as one can see from FF14 without actually physically playing it myself. MMORPGs do not exist to me, because any time my friends pick one up they just put a hold on life. FF14, FF11, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, EVE, Maple Story, Runescape, Everquest, and all the rest can go burn. Think of how much I have to loathe something to defend literal Mario Kart over it.

The one thing, and I do literally mean the one thing I will give FF14 is it just lets you change jobs whenever you want. World of Warcraft makes you build a whole new character.

That is the one thing that garbage can does well. Everything else can burn. Good on Mario Kart 8 for taking out the trash.

What I would give to see Rayman go up in percentage on the next update.

Nier has good chance at taking out Skyrim.

Think this probably puts the nail in the Nier upset, but on the plus side it pretty much guarantees the Skyrim/Witcher showdown which will be the match of the contest

Embarrassing from The franchise

Skyrim is doing great, but so is NieR against a stronger entrant. Going to be a fun final. Rayman is exposing Pokemon as a F R A U D.

Other than MK 8's match it's impossible to know if these are good or bad showing for the top seeds. Hearthstone v Divinity was probably the weakest match in bracket and Journey v FGO is the runner up

I'd go as far as saying that The Witcher and NieR have been possibly the two best looking games so far, relative to expectations. We all knew Zelda and Skyrim would dominate, but the two former games were a big topic of contention here before the contest. Would they be worth much? Would Geralt and 2B doing well translate to their games doing well? They've exceeded most expectations, at this point.

They both get to go up against Skyrim, too, which should be interesting.

I really thought FFXIV had a shot here. I didn't originally have it until I saw there was a pretty lively topic on Board 8.

Don't get me wrong, MK8 is fantastic, but FFXIV is the best Final Fantasy game between FF8 and FF7 Remake

I agree with HGSS, but I think REmake 2 is sufficiently a different experience that it should be treated as a different entrant.

Skyrim needs to get up to 80% to match its projected 2015 result.

Waiting one more update to start making Nier comparisons.

Fair point.
I think Nier is outperforming Skyrim now, its obliterating Divinity OS 2 which has made quite some fans over the years, i think Nier is becoming closer to winning the whole division.

Breath of the Wild has looked the best for serious.

FFXIV's playerbase is sizable enough to rally if you can get them to care about this more then they do about male viera.

As soon as I just noticed I picked against Mario kart 8, I knew I messed up before even seeing results... I did quick picks in the beginning and meant to go back and more closely decide some of them... I'm, still above 92%, but I would have missed a few less had I gone back over it.

I don't necessarily think MK8 "should" win, though. I bought it for wii u, didn't play it, sold it and got deluxe for switch.... played it 12 time.

Divinity vs Journey is a big question mark, but for what its worth, Bayonetta 2 probably destroys Journey, so once Skyrim's percentage settles we can use that as a barometer.
