I would say that Square Enix hierarchy makes FFXV beat Octopath anyways. If there's such a thing.

IT depends on the games base strength.

FF is higher than DQ but DQXI would destroy FFXV. Theres no denying that.

FFXV is bottom of the barrel. I'd take almost every Mainline FF game over it except the first 3.

I remember the first bracket I ever made was for Games 2k4 and I picked Final Fantasy 1 to win. I had just seen Cloud defeat Link and figured that this strange RPG-crazed site would use FF1 as a stand-in for their love of the series as a whole.

XV benefited from being 1 game to XIII’s three. JP wise Mac at least isn’t wrong about XIII not being this decade since it came out in 2009

JPN releases are irrelevant.

Otherwise Allen would take that into consideration when doing GOTY polls.

I am aware. I’m simply saying if Mac wants to consider it a game from last decade he can because it was factually released then.

Estimates of the winner's final percentage without the rally:

Mass Effect 2 - Very similar to the final result, probably off by less than 0.20% as this was easily the least rally tainted match. No point in trying to estimate how much the result shifted as a result of the rally.
Horizon Zero Dawn - 54.50%
Resident Evil 2 - 58.75%
Bloodborne - 55.00%

For Horizon and Resident Evil 2, I tried to apply a trends-based prediction to the estimate. I thought Horizon was going to have a great night vote and morning vote based on Aloy's trends in 2018, and the round 1 trends do back this up. Resident Evil 2 looked like it was trending upwards when it suddenly began dropping after 2:30 AM EST, and I factored in DOOM doing well during the day vote (as it did in round 1).

Like the other guy said. FF15 probably got more nominations due to 13 being split into 3 games. Thats all irrelevant

I'm just saying i think 13 would straight up beat 15 in a 1v1 poll.

WEll if thats how strong Bloodbornes rally it might get past RE2. Its got no shot at ME2.

I just googled FF13 and saw a 2009 release date is all. I accept that I was wrong and it came out in 2010.

That said, it probably would've gotten in if not for the two games per series limit, and there's a solid chance it would've been stronger than 15 (though not guaranteed).

I don't buy 13 being stronger than 15. 15 was met with more apathy than any actual revulsion like 13 was unless you think the passage of time treated 13 well like 12, but that's just my two cents.

man why can't games just put away these close matches when they have the momentum

and FFXIII vs. FFXV would basically be a tossup because neither one is all that well liked
