bloodborne reddit had like 1.5k ~ 2k active people througout the day (and the rally topic started getting upvoted a ton)

errr..80 votes in this match could be Decisive.

Just saying, if any of you have an issue with Shovel Knight getting a small Reddit rally, you are always free to go to the Octopath reddit and rally for it there.

There is nothing wrong with choosing to rally for your favorite game/character/series/whatever. This site has encouraged it in the past and the contest page mentions/ed that rallies can happen despite the steps taken to reduce them. We've seen how in 2018 people were using subreddits to rally for their favorite characters in close matches (Tifa, Zero, etc.), and there's nothing wrong with that. It's a popularity contest, at the end of the day.

Just for the record, I'm rooting for Shovel Knight today but ultimately don't care who wins the match that much.

I don't think the rally really mattered by looking at the total votes for each game.

if the bloodborne subreddit is trying to rally this contest then It's only fair to get the bigger resident evil's subreddit to stop them

Bloodborne's sub is actually bigger than RE's, but less active.

Anyway, the whole haughty "but *I* could never stand to rally!" attitude is a bit silly. This isn't 2013 or even 2015, almost everything has an active community now. Things have democratised in a way that anybody can rally for almost any game. In 2013 if you weren't LoL or to a lesser extent Pokemon you were SOL (though the Pokemon did lose and I do believe Link had Draven dead to rights pre-site going down). 2015 was a bit better in that we saw multiple effective rallies, but still centred around specific games. I think things are probably better than ever for relatively evenly matched rally opportunities.

Looking at the chart for Rayman it's scary how close the results are matching up. At this exact time the votals were in single figures and then Rayman never looked back.

SK is winning in USA by 52.5 but if another match taught me something it is that it doesn't really matters.

Shovel Knight now 22 votes ahead.

This is a good sign if we assume every indie game trends the same, which is of course not the case but much more convenient to think about

Not sure. But the main mod seemed cool with it.
