Looks like KH gained some percentage in the last few hours, because it was pretty close to Portal when I woke up 4 hours ago.

Based on these results Portal should get the job done.

In every match that’s left, one game is so clearly going to win and the other game has ZERO chance. And if you don’t know which game is going to win every remaining match, you’re simply an idiot.

yeah i changed my mind after seeing this result. Also i heavily overestimated nomura fanboys. It looks like they arent a bunch of sheep afterall. Plus im using my heart over head most likely. But who cares. Portal 2 to take out the trash

KH3 has no business being in a 3rd round.

it very lucky to even be in this division. Maybe allen is a KH3 fan.

FFXV rightly fed into BOTWs quarter and rightly so

overhyped AAA games that end up being turd should be eliminated Asap.

its not as bad as mass effects 2 pic against mgs3. That was the biggest crime ever

no idea why allen does unfair oic advantages. Theres obviously better yakuza oictures.

Didnt call anyone stupid for having kh3 over portal. Noone has any real readings on these games. Im oretty certain kh3 will have the higher % of brackets

Nah, Portal dropped overnight more than anything.

That also serves the same purpose!

I think this is more of a turd performance by KH3 than Portal. There's at least a chance that Tomb Raider has managed to get a little bit of strength with the fairly decent reception Rise of the Tome Raider got... I don't think I could even try to convince myself that GameFAQs cares about Disco Elysium at all.

Tomb Raider was also free to download for like a week on Steam a few weeks back. Probably didn't really do anything to the numbers here but i never expected it to be blown away anyway.

I think Tomb Raider is probably halfway decent because we've seen the reboot have a positive effect on Lara in recent contests.

Tomb Raider is easily the strongest low seed here, I wrote in my guest crew post that a doubling is what Portal needed to score to make me feel good about Portal's prospects and that's pretty much what happened. It's a 14 seed that actually has a strong name brand, Portal was never gonna stomp.

I will defend that as a good picture until I die. I love that part of the game.

This performance is satisfactory for Portal 2 > KH3. It may get close to RDR2 but I don't think it'll happen, not off today anyway.

It doesn't matter if you love that part of the game. It isn't a visually appealing image.

It's Shep looking up at Harbinger. I don't see the problem here at all.

You can barely see Shepard at all. If you didn't play ME2 or the Arrival DLC, that pic holds zero appeal.

If you didn't play ME2, no picture would hold appeal <_<

Yeah, that's blatantly untrue.

Last contest's sprite round proved the picture factor is 100% irrelevant to me, because Crono did worse with his sprite and everyone has said for 20 years Chrono Trigger overperforms with sprites. I'm done ever considering match pictures in final results.

Ah yes one minor example of a character who is always photogenic proved pic factor doesn't exist

Attributing an underperformance in a games contest to a picture sounds ridiculous, but then again this is a GameFAQs contest we're talking about.

Pictures absolutely do matter because some people like both games and don't have a strong preference (we're the weirdos for keeping organized lists of our favorites), or you have people who haven't played either game and something has to decide their vote. A cool pic is as good of a reason as any.

Goku pic looking strong.

Pictures matter but in this case I am actually with Ulti. Mass Effect has a distinctive style and that is visible in the pic, even if it’s not a great composition.

I played the game and if it didn't say Mass Effect 2 there I would not know what game that was from.

I'm not really for or against the pic TBH. I just have to imagine Mass Effect has a vastly different style to Metal Gear and that the picture would reflect that. Would a picture of the ME2 cast really have done much better?

I don't see pics mattering at all these days with how small the images are, especially when it's multiple matches a day.

If anything they matter even more since you are forced to vote in all four matches.

I guess I'm biased because I already know what nearly every game already is.

This has been disproven SO many times now. I can’t believe we’re arguing about match pics after 18 years.

The Mass Effect 2 example isn’t even what bothers me. What pissed me off last time was people thinking I sabotaged Ganon, when you can go read my Zelda 1 review and see how much I love that game.

just because it doesn't always matter doesn't mean it never matters

the Bacondorf sprite is the perfect example; I can believe you didn't deliberately sabotage him, but that sprite is just so ugly and Ganondorf's strength comes from his Gerudo form, not his Ganon form

there's no way Ganondorf is worth less than 40% on Mega Man and Pikachu, and you can tell that by how pathetic the rest of his division looks in the X-Stats because there was a pretty massive underperformance

Pics are arguably the reason Link doesn't have a perfect 1v1 record.

Has people forgotten how well a Naked Snake pic has done for Big Boss? Or how dreadful Vincent was when he had that unrecognizable pic? I think pictures do play a role in performance.

Oh, they do. It has to be a pretty drastic example for it to make a noticeable difference, but those do exist and they happen more often in sprite rounds.

Snake/Frog is the ultimate example of that.

I'm not even saying the ME2 pic made any difference. I'm just saying it's not an appealing pic.

Ulti is just being contrarian, we've known pictures can matter since at least 2004. It's like trying to argue SFF doesn't exist.

No, I stopped when people started b****ing nonstop about match pictures every year. Telling me what to think 24/7 is pretty much a guaranteed way to get me not to agree with a position. I cannot stand crybabies.
