think this match is indicative of a trend: the indies worth the most in
this contest were all released in the latter half of the decade.
Stardew, Undertale, Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight, ect. all came out
after 2014. The 'old classic' like VVVVVV, Bastion, and Binding of Isaac
haven't been doing so great, even when they win. This makes me worry for Super Meat Boy...not that it's competition is at all strong. Black Turtle did a pretty good job. (edited 4/4/2020 5:09:43 PM) |

It's a short game so it's best to have played it first and experience all the hilarious insta-deaths yourself first, though there are some hilarious youtube videos are there. I supposed Super Meat Boy fell into the same family of games, but yeah, the IWBTG creator was actually 100% inspired by this game after he played it himself, though by that time Owata's wasn't yet finished. And when Owata's did finish, the ending parts are heavily IWBTG inspired, in more ways than one. Last finished: Big Adventure of Owata's Life (PC), Blasteroids (ARC), Asteroids (Atari 8 Bit), Space Invaders (NEC PC-98). |

Tassadar66, FierceDeity0, 3rdTimesDeCharm, Chrono007, D_Winds,
huntmaster17, faramir77 and theRPG4 did not got all four matches right. 6 people got 1 wrong but survived. Atreides27, SirAugustine, mewantcookie, BobbyEvans, fst249 and Nman14 only got 3 points but are still on the Top 50. Link isn't the only one who kicks ass.
