2 lost to Mass Effect 3? I could have sworn people hated ME3. I guess

Stanley Parable got a fair amount of press upon release. I think I'm starting to give up on predicting which indie games GameFAQs decides to attach themselves to. Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

mean Stanley Parable could have struggled to get 15% and I don't think
any of us would have batted an eye. And as dunked on as INSIDE has been
on the board since its match, I'm surprised it was that weak. It was
very well-received upon release. A lot of the opinions on indie game strength are going to be justified post-match as 'yeah that makes sense' but in reality it's a crapshoot for the ones that aren't obvious successes like Shovel Knight. Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

the endless whining about the ending, 2013 Shepard makes me think ME3
genuinely would have had a bit more contest strength than one might
expect. Shame it was placed where it was in 2015, since we'd otherwise

Some people were upset about having to buy 3 separate games for the whole experience, and HotS lost some momentum, and apparently LotV wasn't too hot (haven't played that one). But Wings of Liberty? I've heard only complaints about the story (which I don't agree with), but the gameplay was generally praised all around. My guess is that people are lumping WoL+HotS+LotV together, when the poll was just about WoL which was easily the strongest one and a good sequel. Last finished: Big Adventure of Owata's Life (PC), Blasteroids (ARC), Asteroids (Atari 8 Bit), Space Invaders (NEC PC-98). |
honestly we're all just guessing when it comes to the strengths of all these indie games which means there's not much to glean from all these results but whatever it's fun to speculate |

BoI/Nioh
was one of a few matches I had no clue on when picking my bracket,
decided to just go for the lower seed and the game I had heard more
about (despite Isaac/BoI not looking great in previous contests). Not
surprised I got it wrong, I was due for another miss. Guess it's only

seemed like one of those B tier AAA games that is good but not super
discussed so I thought it woukdn’t do great (like dying light or
