Maybe this is just because I have a confrontational personality, but I actually preferred the way the Draven fans acted to the Undertale fans. Draven supporters were more sincere. It was really annoying reading the constant flood of "Undertale is actually a really great game, guys, just give it a chance..." threads. They had essentially invaded the site and then had the gall to ask people to approach them and their game with good will.

Invading out of sincere love is better than invading out of trolling, hate of the people you are invading, and love of chaos, IMO.

"Draven fans were better because they were honest about being terrible" basically sounds like a Pro-Trump argument, anyways.

Overall, some pretty decent splits between registered and anonymous users with this set of matches. About 2% for Smash Ultimate, only 1.5% for A Link Between Worlds, and about 2.5% for both Marvel's Spider Man and Minecraft. Certainly more evidence that bracket voting is a bigger factor than expected with registered users having to deal with forced voting in every match, so they would be more likely to support their bracket choice if they're not familiar with either game.

Draven almost ended contests. The board got invaded by an exceptional amount of trolls and people here redirected their bitterness towards Allen for some reason. We're honestly lucky we still get contests after that debacle.

Undertale robbed of us some good matches, and there were some trolls coming in (at a much smaller amount), but that's about it. Draven was absolutely the most miserable time in this board's history.

On the plus side, I learned a bunch of new ways to say butthurt.

It got directed at Allen because he went on Reddit and literally asked them to vote in our contest, multiple times, and then tried denying he was the cause of the invasion in the first place.

You can’t ask for outside traffic and then get mad if the outside traffic is unpredictable.

also I'm not sure why you'd expect DBZ to get franchise votes

or why it would be enough to matter

I had DMC5 since day 1 since it seemed like the bigger deal to me. People loved that game! A lot of people I know like Tropical Freeze but I'm not sure if they love it.

[I should note here I have not played either one, and barely have played either series for that matter]

Well, it did decently enough in GOTY and it was my gut instinct pick because I didn't feel like people got quite as attached to the recent DKC games. I just thought Tropical Freeze might benefit from some default votes from people who have to vote for everything.

Tropical Freeze probably wins this match if it releases on the Switch first. Everything on the Wii U was sent out to die.

I will never pick Donkey Kong to win a match ever again

Donkey Kong the character is almost certainly stronger than any of his games. 2018 was arguably his best contest, as he put up his best ever performance on Vivi and easily beat Tidus in a very debated match pre-contest.

I'm really nervous about my biggest position coming up to bat... Persona 5. It has to show up big(like 80%+) in it's first match or I'm cooked. I have it making at least the semis

Also, people trying to rally on Discord and Reddit are really missing the key Undertale demographic here. You need to go viral on Tick Tock or some s***head Twitch influencer to get any traction with the 13 year olds that play Undertale
