Voted for Tekken 7 and proud of it.

Anyhow...Dead Space 2 i thought would do better.....then again were talking about a comic book game.

I sort of had fears about that trash Xenoblade 2 beating out Batman....this impressive performance by spiderman eases that a bit.

Maybe Bloodborne rose, but that result is not at all only because of that.

There's some room for error when it comes to Call of Duty, but 17% is a bit much. I think we can agree that this is not the same Bloodborne.

I wouldn't draw too much from that Bloodborne result, just like I wouldn't draw too much from this Minecraft result. We have a lot of bad fodder in this contest!

I would think Tekken would win since it at least kinda has brand name for the small handful of people who played an older Tekken game back in the arcades

Probably 55-45 but i maybe more who knows.The OW was received well last year. Tekken is a respected fighting game but a lackluster video game. All T7 has is brand recognition. Pretty much the worst fighting game in term of content but one of the best mechanically. So the opposite of Smash Ultimate basically.

If were talking BOTW/Smash. Indirectly BOTW is only worth about 55% on Smash most likely due to both being heavy Nintendo hitters. Directly BOTW i can see getting above 60%. This isn't a Brawl/Majoras Mask situation. I think BOTW is just outright stronger and will be able to SFF to a significant degree because they are both Switch games(mostly for BOTW)

I'll tell you what match will be interesting though...the Odyssey/Smash match. I'm looking forward to that one.

There's some room for error when it comes to Call of Duty, but 17% is a bit much. I think we can agree that this is not the same Bloodborne.

I mean, it's not just CoD. 2010 AC2 looks like it would more than doubles 2015 AC2 and it probably looks even worse now. That's the kind of spiral you should expect Call of Duty to slide down to as well. They fell a lot. Especially when it's Black Ops and not Modern Warfare. MW was videly respected, BO more just among the fanbase and there are like none of those here anymore.

I mean, I think Bloodborne has reason to be better too, but I don't doubt for a second CoD is a lot worse now.

LBW/Bayo is the hardest match so far between 2 games I've never played. I think I'd like both games, but franchise antiquity won me over.

I read Marvel Comics regularly. But open world games tend to bore me, and it feels derivative of Batman. I've actually seen Spider-Man at a friend's and... eh. Deadspace it is.

Giving it to DotA2 as both Warcraft 3 and LoL gave me good times. Honor vote.

Brand Recognition will get Tekken a decent %.

Its not beating Outer Worlds outright. And i've played both games and hung out in both communities here on Gamefaqs. Tekken 7 is very hardcore while OW rode of the "Bethesda sucks" Hype train. Obviously it snot as good but a ton of people did enjoy it.

Also how has tekken done historically in contests? And i'm talking about Tekken games far stronger than tekken 7?

I'm inclined to think Tekken's been kind of SFF'd here.

Still thinking Smash is the #2 game in this contest.

Still thinking Link Between Worlds was completely wasted this bracket too. I don't expect much SFF next round, but it muddies the water that there could be SFF and it's just such a one-and-done entrant for one of our most unpredictable LoZ-games.

I don't expect Minecraft to put up a fight with Spider-Man. Ammy got 85% on Draven post-championship, so 77% on Dota 2 ain't exactly impressing me. It'll do okay though...I'm guessing high thirties before Spider-Man fails to match LoZ:LBW's numbers against SSBU.

With all those blowouts and the fact so many people are voting without knowing th games I wonder if those %s even are transitive at all.

A Link Between Worlds is a Zelda game. It should be fine standing up to SFF.

Yeah, I guess I believe the theory that a game can't get an 80% blowout - even on really bad fodder, which Call of Duty may be - without having some appreciable strength of its own. We'll see how strong these blowout games really are once they start matching up against each other.

Yah a 17 percent difference in strength for Bloodborne might seem like much, but I'd be willing to bet there's that big of a gap between MW and Blops. MW1 still has some cred with hardcore gamers as a revolutionary title

This could be true. for BGE...we had a larger pool of games to choose so most of the ones nominated had much higher player %. ALso there was no limits on Franchises

The first BGE had games limited to 16 per generation, The second limited to 16 games per 3 years. The third was the first time a game contest removed said caps and by that point it was almost 20 years later, and Tekken 6 (which was the most recent one at the time I think) was one of the weaker games in that series. If we ever get a GotD 90s edition with the same setup, T3 probably gets in without much trouble though it'll do poorly if Kazuya's and Jin's performances were anything to go by.

Pretty much agree, especially since LoZ:LBW had enough fans to win GotY (though I wouldn't have liked more resolution between it and The Last of Us) and this LoZ-game was on a different system from SSBU. SSBU could just be THAT much stronger, but yeah, I think what we'll see will be pretty much close to accurate.

Absolutely. But COD in general has gone down the s***ter

Im really surprised by Bayonetta losing to Zelda here, i thought it was regarded as one of the best fact-paced action games of the decade.
This is looking like my 3rd mistake so far...damn it.

but my point is the caps are limited to franchises not Years.

Also this has been the weakest generation in terms of heavy hitters. My point is were gonan get more fodder in this contest than any other Games contest.

AND we had the absolute ELITE in those contest

Can you imagine what Ocarina of Time/Chrono Trigger even the likes of Mario 64/FF6/Super Metroid....would do to some of these games?

Hell BOTW got a fairly strong number 16 seed as did Mass Effect 2. If BOTW had some of these other dross games its getting 95%+ on these things.

Glad to see the Bayonetta fanbase in here giving that game some well deserved praise. I'm a big fan as well (trust me, I have to really like something to support it over Zelda), but as we've discussed before, pure action games are simply not that popular on this site. The fact that it's staying respectable against a Zelda game is a win, imo.

I have 1000/1000 score for Tekken 7. Absolutely my favourite "fighting" game this gen and any gen for that matter. In terms of having a controller or fight pad and just playing a fighting game...TEkken 7 is unmatched imo.

As an actual video game it has poor content. I've spent more time on Tekken 7 than most games this gen but there are many games that offer up more content. Smash included.

I have 0 reason to AntiVote Ultimate. This isn't Brawl which i actively hated.

My thoughts on Ultimate is that its just Smash 4 with more meaningless characters. The single player is garbage but the game is still solid and fun. Its just not something i play a lot if barely these days. I go back if they have a character i'm interested in seeing like Banjo.

And this is why ultimately Smash isn't going to do s*** vs BOTW. Hell i think smash struggles to beat Odyssey(and by that i mean it beats it..but not by much). BOTW is a genuine bonified GOTG contender. Smash barely beat God of War in the GOTY poll. Yes Smash has a billion characters. But how good is the game exactly? How many GOTY awards did Smash win compared to every #1 seed on here? It has the lowest total of any #1 and "#2 seed here. Lets be brutally honest about Smash Bros as a franchise here. It has a huge fanbase. But its not a game people look to being the absolute best of a generation.

LBW isn't some low tier Zelda like the s***ty DS ones. It beat out TLOU on here for GOTY. TLOU was one mother f***ing overhyped game back then i remember. People underrate LBW's popularity a bit.

Id take over every Handheld Zelda. Even Links Awakening. Easily.

Man, this result hurts my heart. Dota/Dota 2 are some of the purest actual "gaming" video games ever made, and its getting trounced by a boring walking simulator that is only popular with people that were 3 when it came out.

Dota 2 isn't really mainstream. LOL is mainstream, Dota 2 is the more hardcore game. I figured that would count for something, but I guess this site just has no patience for skill-based PC games.
