IIRC the Fallout series has always had a bad board vote.

I didn't think twice about Horizon > BL2 really.

Like DQXI yesterday, this says more about how bad the competition is than anything else. I had Destiny vibes the whole time here.

Bloodstained kept up for the entire first 5 minutes.
Let's see if it's still alive after the first update.

Also, does our board dislike Mass Effect now? Even 2? Or does RE have a really good board vote? Even 7?

I blame Ngamer for this seething Borderlands hate. His propaganda machine has been in full force for years.

Horizon/Fortnite says more about Fortnite's strength than anything else.

Borderlands looks like it's getting exposed though, which matters more.

After realizing Horizon was around P5's level of strength and Fortnite being totally irrelevant in the site's polls, as well as seeing Dragon Quest's hyper blowout, anything lower than a tripling seemed low.

The Borderlands brand has lost a lot of cache over the years. The humour didn’t age well, Gearbox is a wreck, Randy Pitchford is a wreck, and so on.

Yeah, precontest I thought Horizon would do fine based on good GotY showing here and being rather liked and hopefully recent enough to not have been forgotten entirely while I expected BL2 to have fallen from grace quite a bit.

I thought about taking Bloodstained here. Such a good game, compared to the absolute trash pile that is the Borderlands series.

Would Mass Effect 2 only doubling RE7 be a disappointing result?

Horizon is down there wrecking shop. I mean yah Fornite is prime antivote fodder, but you don't just accidentally quadruple something without being strong yourself.

If there is any justice whatsoever, Bloodstained will win this match. I love that game so much.

I mean, I kind of expected a minimum blowout of at least 75% for this match. The closest comparison I could find to Fortnite's strength would be something like Hearthstone, which was badly destroyed by OoT in 2015 and I figured Fortnite may be as weak or even weaker than Hearthstone. The only difference is that Horizon is nowhere close to OoT's strength, so there was a limit on how high it could go here.

Fallout 4 looking good here. I think I would have taken V over RE7?

Borderlands has 60% of the Canada vote, which appears to be the main reason it isn't losing. It's 50-50 in the US.

Bloodstained, it was fun for 5 minutes.

Awww VVVVVV below 40%. I hope it improves that early vote was too good.

If you wanna stay on the "indies are so legit now train", then Fallout looks great.

But I believe Berseria and TWD to be that weak as well. It might not mean much. RE is certainly a good brand name.

Man, that was some board vote for V6.

Walking Dead was at 54% 10 minutes in. bracket votes seem crazy this year with so many more brackets - the Bastion match isn’t even close without the double vote.

That Fortnite result looks great if you're someone like me who thinks Undertale won't win even one match.

Not all indies are born the same. Hollow Knight very easily could in the top 3 or 5 strongest indies in the bracket. I highly doubt V has the same sauce.

Regardless of what you think about Fortnite, the game has gotten huge for a reason and is still very active to this day.

To see it get demolished like this can only mean it's getting tons of anti-votes. This isn't just irrelevance, it's hatred.

I'm feeling pretty good about Horizon > Borderlands now.

Of all the results from today's matches, the only one that looks off to me is ME2/RE7.

Maybe RE7 is a lot stronger than I gave it credit for, but this doesn't look too good for ME2.

Everything else going as expected.
