TWD really humming now. Sort of. A lot of these updates are just Bastion dying while TWD gets its 70-80 votes per.

its not good news for Bastion. TWD is going to tear it up in Europe

f*** you, bro. I love you but f*** you. A trash can beating one of the best games ever made in that way was like watching my own open heart surgery. I loathe Shadow of the Colossus and all of the people who keep telling me I'm supposed to love it. The game is dog s***.

One of the many reasons it felt so good being on Undertale's side. It's nice being on the positive end of a match like that.

SotC > MGS2 was one of those matches where I had no favorite - love them both equally. Undertale on the other hand is hot trash I'm sorry but I'm really rooting for shovel knight to bury it.

Can we talk about how strong DQ11 is here? I thought it was going to struggle with Bastion, where the hell did this strength come from? Who gives a rat f*** about Dragon Quest in 2020?

Have you missed the entirety of Smash Ultimate's DLC choices and also missed DQ11 getting a huge push for the Switch release? In what world would Bastion ever touch DQ?

Also I chose Bastion over TWD since Telltale went down the s***ter and nobody cares about TWD anymore. That s***'s been over the hill for over half a decade now.

The real question is who gives a "rat f***" about Black Turtle in 2020? Or ever for that matter? Also, why are people wasting their time responding to someone so clueless?

I suppose there is some merit in reading her posts, as I literally adjusted my bracket shortly before close, based on going opposite of her "brilliant" predictions.

I never played DQ11, i know the older titles are not that interesting and they were mediocre imo. Anything makes DQ11 such a strong game? or is it the usual bias? because frankly i have never seen anyone like that game outside of GameFaqs. I mean strongly like it, like actual fanboy.

Snowball effect. Series was always outshined by FF in the west. FF has been going downhill since IX and XV is ass (in my professional opinion). DQXI is the best RPG in the last few years and is on the PS4 & Switch. It's been a gradual process but a necessary one

DQXI is the first sexy HD game in the series (other than the MMO that I'm not sure even came out here?). After completely skipping the PS3 I think a lot of people were excited for a DQ game of this scale, and it delivered for most.

Personally I thought it was boring with some of the worst music I've heard in a modern AAA (I guess) game but I also don't have the same patience I once had for most JRPGs.

The only thing i remember Black Turtle for is his Brawl Bias during GOTD 2010

I thought Persona was the best recent JRPG not DQ11.
Anyway i watched its trailer and the music was really nice, but other than that i had no urge to buy it, most fans said it goes by the book and keeps it safe, similar to its old titles so i passed it because i find them mediocre. Im sure its not bad, but its a long game and i dont want to invest in a long game atm that will end up being mediocre (based on most information and indications)

Anyway, any chance for it to beat Sekrio/Monster Hunter? What about beating Breath of the Wild?

I'm just talking from a contest standpoint, for me personally it would go Sekiro > DQXI > MHW

I only managed to play DQ and MH for 15 hours each. I feel like I could have at least pushed myself to keep going with DQ, with MH I realized the game really was about the grind and loot and item drops and all that is so not my thing. Which is a shame because I liked the combat and exploring the different hubs, but the core loop just wasn't for me.

Sekiro was just aces, definitely one of last year's best games. Unfortunately it won't get past Round 2 here...

Bastion's been padding its lead for a while now and negating Walking Dead's cuts. I still think there's a possibility the match flips but I'm much less confident about that now

Aaah even if it's a single point it's way too early in the contest to be losing points over flippin Bastion and the Walking Dead. I blame Telltale for oversaturating the market, people wouldn't have noticed how bs the choice system actually is if they weren't exposed to it so often. Also blame Life is Strange for having a way more interesting implementation of a choice system.

I'm inclined to agree, Bastion is pretty old school in terms of indie games, I'm guessing the day vote crowd would lean TWD just on name recognition.

I'm still blown away at how poorly Bastion is doing here though

Woke up, checked the results. Already 1 mistake there, and it is the one that most people here made. Also next round pretty sure I am screwed. Eh these things happen.

I don't think MHW > Sekiro looks so obvious as most do. I don't think you can just say "BD would beat Ni no Kuni without trouble" and can it a day. Ni no Kuni is no longer of relevance if it ever was, but everyone remembers it here and knows it for being the game Studio Ghibli animated. I don't think it's something a lot of games would look good against barring the most universally aclaimed high seeds or big franchise names. If you know little about the game it's up against, then "Ni no Kuni looks good" probably helps it a decent bit. It just doesn't seem like something that gets blown our easily despite losing to most of the field.

MHW can beat Sekiro of course, but I don't think a BD vs Ni no Kuni match would line up with that. Also, people in these topics give BD way more credit than it deserves, and I'll happily repeat that even more. It's worth nothing here and not something Nintendo drones vote for because it's on Nintendo consoles at all. Much bigger chance Monster Hunter benefits from such tbh.

The best thing about Ni No Kuni was the White Witch.
