I picked Bastion pretty easily my first time through and switched it after reading how confident everyone was in TWD. Next contest I'm staying off the board during bracket entry. <_<;

Well, Monster Hunter seems to be fine, was just that one update. Considering how good BD looked in the first minutes, maybe it was just that.

We have two more conceivably debatable matches tomorrow with Vs/Fallout and Horizon/Fortnite. Is anyone else growing less confident already?!

Fortnite's not a GameFAQs kind of game and it's not an indie so it will get crushed.

I say this every contest and still do it anyway. I legitimately had Bastion at first.

Although without the board I probably pick Sekiro three times, so it's a mixed bag.

I took Bastion on my first run through mostly since I liked the game and knew they would both suck. I changed a whole load of 1-point and 2-point matches once I looked at what the board thought (on the whole I'm pretty confident these changes will end up winning me points, if not today).

I don't think it's that mixed a bag, honestly - being on the board helps all of us with predictions, at least given a large enough sample size.

I literally had MHW to the division finals initially until I decided to look at past polls to see what the site thought of it...and I had Walking Dead beating DQXI too initially.

Sometimes second guessing yourself does work out. You really can never tell.

B8ers dominate the brackets unless a weird rally happens. Staying off the board for opinions is ill-advised unless you're really in tune with tumblr/reddit/snapchat/whatever and are 100% sure which random thing is going to blow up.

Fortnite is probably the next Minecraft.
It has a largish regit, a lot of popular streamers and co, but I don't think anyone will bother rallying for it.

It's a perfect game. I'm gonna play Bastion some time just because of it.

I mean I wouldn’t be surprised if even Berseria could get 70% or more against Trails. It’s super niche I think despite having several games. This board is the only place I’d ever even heard anyone mention it

It wasn't bad, but I remember it being pretty bland. It's $10 for a few hours of old school gameplay, and then you never play it again, which I assume is a common theme among Indy games.

Basically, I think both these games are basura, and DQ is going to make us lament its bracket placement even more next round.

I still need to beat Bastion someday.

I think we can officially say that indies are legit now.

I mean I think that was proved yesterday, but I wouldn't put it past TWD to simply have flopped horribly.

Bastion was one of the frontrunner indie games. It's kind of lacking compared to current outings, but at the time it was one of the first indie games that made people sit up and start to take the genre seriously. It, Super Meat Boy, and Braid all come to mind there.

I beat Transistor then immediately started it over and beat it again just to try the harder difficulty. I loved that game.

Limbo and (now that I'm remembering it) VVVVVV are good choices too, yeah.

Pyre is awesome. Easily my favorite SuperGiant game.

Holy f*** Bastion is s***ting the bed here. I'm glad I switched to DQ11 winning next round.
