I disagree, simply because pretty much only people who have played the Hoenn games would antivote it, and their playrate doubtless pales compared to RBY here.

Tentacool would be anti-voted because that's the only Pokémon you encounter on your way surfing from Fuchsia city to Cinnabar Island. In the Hoenn games, Tentacools are mixed with Wingulls/Pelippers.

Oh nice to see my post getting some answers. For me I classify this

Port=The same game on another system. Maybe an extra mode or something like that is added.
Remaster=A graphical update usually. Maybe an extra mode just for good measure.
Remake=The game but completely made up from the start again with almost the same story and some extra stuff.

I actually agree on everything but remake.

Remake needs to maintain some sort of core element to the game, not necessarily the story. For RPGs, yeah, it's the story. For something like a platformer, where the story is almost irrelevant, a remake vs a sequel is going to be defined by something more core to the experience. Level and enemy design would be big ones for me.

Like Simon Belmont kills Dracula is not a story that matters. Countless more story simple franchises have a ton of remakes if you're using story as the criteria.

Is Sonic 2 a remake of Sonic the Hedgehog?
Is Mega Man 2 a remake of Mega Man?
Is Super Mario Bros 3 a remake of Super Mario Bros?

It only doesn't sound absurd on its face because Castlevania eventually got a bit more story heavy over time and has a revolving door of main characters, but that higher plot standard doesn't retroactively apply to earlier titles.

So just a random question. Why is Halloween just a huge holiday there in USA? I mean it is not a Christian holiday and Americans are, or at least were, very religious.
I have seen what happens in movies of course and have read stuff but seriously. I guess it just kinda happened right?

You have darkness at 5 p.m.? Wow. Down here we have darkness at 7 p.m. (maybe 6:30 p.m. at the earliest).

Chespin is great; sad to see it doing so poorly! (Its evolutions are horrendous, though)

Grass is definitely the worst set of starters

Snivy deserves better

I don't want to say since I am not an expert but I believe that people REALLY like Generation 1. Not so sure about this though. What do you think?

It's not so much Rowlet in itself, but rather Decidueye (its final form). Litten was actually the most popular Alolan starter until Incineroar came along and polarized the whole fanbase.

Also, RIP Chikorita =(

No, you're wrong, Rowlet was definitely the most popular Gen 7 starter just based on their first forms. This poll basically proves it:

Huh... I do remember Rowlet and Litten being close enough, but I thought Litten had the advantage. Maybe I was biased because of watching too much TheAuraGuardian, lol.

IMO Bulbasaur has the best design of the three in RBY, and the best design of any of grass starters. I mean, a plant dino that shoots vines out of its bulb? Brilliant! I almost voted Snivy, though, just because I thought he was a charming character in PMD:Gates of Infinity demo that I played.

Rowlet and Litten were fairly close before the reveal of the final evolutions, with Rowlet having a slight advantage over Litten. Decidueye and Incineroar basically helped widen the gap between Rowlet and Litten, as seen in this Twitter poll:

Looks like Death Stranding’s not a contender for GOTY and all this whining about sword and shield can’t be a good sign for Pokemon.

They changed some of the options but it looks like those who weren't interested regardless is stable from the Sun/Moon poll at right around 49-50% of the site and an additional ~11% are pissed enough at the changes that they're not picking up Sword or Shield.

I think it depends on how you interpret the poll. As of right now, if we combine the 4th and 5th options ("upset with the cuts" + "used to be a Pokémon fan") it gives roughly 37%, so technically I'd be around 2% off my guess.

The head-stratcher for me here is the last option. It... shouldn't be so high. I'd figure "never been a Pokémon fan" =/= "never played a game in the series" just fine, but it's kind of hard for me to process the percentages between them.

~7% of people having played at least one Pokemon game but not really ever having liked any of them makes enough sense to me. If anything I'd figure it would be higher given that the Sun/Moon poll indicates a series playrate above 80%.

Okay, so taking both polls into account, what percentage of the fanbase would you guys say has moved on/grown tired of the series?

Maybe like a third or quarter of the fandom, although they’ll still buy it anyways.

Why in all these polls of the day I always see people that keep their old consoles? I mean you can play the old games via PSN/XBOX Arcade/Virtual Console. I don't get it.

Not everything is on the PSN/VC/etc and some people like to keep their older consoles and handhelds

I've kept every one of my old consoles. Even as a kid, I'd take excellent care of my consoles and games, and I love playing the games the way they were originally meant to be played. Some of those games aren't available in the newer systems either. It's not like I use them frequently but unless I'm ever in need of a desperate buck, I'll keep my console.

Nostalgia and hobby were my main reasons, though I recently sold everything off. I don't think current products (VC, services, NES Classic) are a total replacement but they fit my current needs.
