What’s “B7” mean? Match is pretty up in the air right now IMO. Could see the early vote being “smarter” than the vote tomorrow, which might favor Mario more like last time, while the early voters might have more sympathy for Samus this time, as well as actually realizing she can win this time, which might boost her a bit with them. Maybe Samus can get rallies tomorrow though. I don’t have much confidence in either of them at this point. |

know, after all these years im surprised this contest results are being
pretty much the same as they used to be , i thought tastes would change
and new gen of players would shake things up a bit no complains thought, i still like these old characters way more than any of these new western characters they release nowadays |

If
it looks like Samus would have won this match without any rallies (if
they show up later on), I imagine this result would be used in the
adjusted X-Stats since it happened with a more neutral match picture

I'm
legit happy about this, but I feel like these loser bracket matches
mean very little to the average voter. This means about what the 2007
bonus poll meant, where ? Block won but if it was in the main bracket it
wouldn't have won the contest. I have a very hard time believing Samus
wins if this was purely single elimination, but at least this isn't

I had an idea of getting some matches involving only the Noble Nine that have never happened in a 1v1 match. There's only 6 potential match combinations meeting those requirements. Cloud/Mega Man Crono/Samus Crono/Sephiroth Mario/Sonic Mega Man/Samus Sephiroth/Sonic That's all of the remaining Noble Nine match-ups which have not happened in a 1v1 match. If we were to run multiple bonus matches at the same time, I assume Allen would avoid using the same character in more than one match. Which limits us to a maximum of 3 matches running at the same time. My personal picks are Cloud/Mega Man, Crono/Sephiroth, and Mario/Sonic. The closest we got to it was Mario vs Shadow 2003, Super Mario World vs Sonic 2 2004, and Mario/Bowser vs Sonic/Eggman 2011. They have almost always been on opposite sides of the bracket so the closest we ever came to actually having the match finally happen was this year (Sonic needed to beat Zelda in order to face Mario) 4 of the 6 matches listed above technically happened in the fourway contests (Cloud/Mega Man and Mega Man/Samus in 2007, Crono/Samus and Sephiroth/Sonic in 2008). Crono/Sephiroth is the only combination that we've never seen in a contest match. Mario / Shadow happened and Shadow got 45% on him i think he acted as a proxy for Sonic in that match. Sonic himself might have done better but not by much |

I'm pretty certain if Mario vs Sonic were to ever happen on this site,
Mario would just SFF him to the ground like Luigi did with Tails. That
match probably was only close back in 2002-2004 before the Nintendo
boost and the Sonic franchise became an absolute joke with too many bad
3D Sonic games. Now, I could be a 70-30 blowout. In a way, I actually think Final Fantasy has been suffering the same problem in that the franchise has had so many misses over the past 15 years that it's catching up to all post-FF7 characters. that trends follow Mario/Samus 1, Samus is going to end up with a
higher % by the end of the match than she does right now. Trends have
often not followed logic in this contest, though. Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
