Snake likely boosted in matches independent of Nintendo but he's facing a core N character Since his major boost(s), Snake has never had a good run against Nintendo characters. He has always beaten the likes of Seph, Sonic, Cloud (in 4-ways). And like I said earlier, in 06 a Smash-announcement-boosted Snake still lost handily to Samus after running through Megaman, Sonic and Crono (indirectly). No it's alright, I can believe in rSFF from Zelda. I'm kind of hoping the next matches stats will help fix it. Like, having Zelda get beaten by Mario or Cloud or Samus in Losers after she loses to Link. I feel Zelda is the kind of character who is the most likely to be abandoned by voters here, because they may be feeling the LoZ oversaturation. |

Snake easily lost to Cloud in 2007 and beat him in 08 when Seph was there and then when Crono was. But yeah, your point stands. Mega Man is really stalling Ctesjbuvf posting on his phone. |

Does playing a Smash game instead of just watching trailers changes people's opinions too much? Like, they turned the Switch on and immediately spent hours maining Samus and Zelda while ignoring Snake? |
Idk man Why did people suddenly start voting for Snake because he was announced for the game? Smash does weird s***. I loved Snake going from weak link of the n9 to one of the strongest, but the way it happened - just being announced for Smash - was laughable. THREE AGAIN! Not to be confused with XIII_Stones. It's
like if in tomorrow's match MM went to break 49% on Cloud. It would
throw stats out of the window. And then someone went and told me "but MM
is more Nintendo than Cloud so being in Smash boosted him in the last 2
days". I mean sure but that feels a little overcomplicated. |

I don't think so, if not like you look at the character screen in Smash with those 70 characters and think "oh my, Mega Man is soooooo Nintendo. I think I like him more than others now". Smash boosts tend to be more linear than that I think. |

the record, Mega Man did poorly against Pikachu in this timeframe. He
rebounded in the last two hours so I wouldn't call this match over just
yet. Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

by 113 after having lost ground up until then. 150 is probably too tall

while Samus might be overperforming on Snake here for any number of
reasons, overall I think this discussion has a more simple answer: Samus
is strong. Really really strong. She was naturally stronger than Snake
in 2006 and she's naturally stronger this year too. She blew out Tifa
who proceeded to turn around and clown Sephiroth, and then she held up
fantastically against Mario despite the Hierarchy having 60-40d her last
time around. Until proven otherwise, Samus is the #2 on this site. Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

In addition to this, Snake's triumph over Sephiroth in 2006 was in the darn Battle Royale. And Snake had finished behind Sephiroth the first two days - he just somehow gained enough votes from Mario and Samus leaving to just barely upend Sephiroth within an inch of his life. Also, Snake had had a decently good showing in 2005. The Brawl trailer alone hardly accounts for ALL of Snake's strength increase. The problem is that he looked bad in 2004 and then looked godly in comparison just two years later - but MGS3, MGS4 hype, and Brawl hype can do that to a guy. "Nothing I could do!" -Darksydephil |

don't think it takes much to change a mind, people don't put much
thought into their votes imo. Could even be a subconscious thing Also it's not the same voters every time obviously Not to be confused with XIII_Stones. |
