Well thats almost certainly match deciding

I rallied for Mario on Facebook.

I think I got three votes. Maybe four.

God rallies piss me off. Literally nobody wants them when their bracket is doing well but once their out of prize contention it's time to screw up the contest!

Like people whine about low votals and gamefaqs so insular but the fun in these is correctly gauging gamefaqs strength, not who can rally harder. Ten f***in hentai threads eugh. It is really is poor sportsmanship

Rallies are okay when the character you support wins.

Oh wow, just realized we have two premier matchups today. Crono vs. Megaman and Snake vs. Samus! I guess this Zelda domination has dulled the contest a bit, but the matches are only 2 hours away.

Yes it has 524 upvotes, but how many of them really went to Gamefaqs? how many of them really voted Zelda?
For all we know 90% of them just clicked the picture, fapped, then moved on to the next picture, without entering Gamefaqs to vote at all

Fair enough if Mario bracketers missing 32 points keeps you in the hunt for $ I guess. Which I think is your situation

I still feel they ruin the fun competitive aspect of the whole thing. Weighing up x stats, past history, subtle site trends, old vs new, square vs Nintendo. it's almost a sport until rallies just change the outcome

I admit the Hentai subreddits being a rally source was something totally unexpected, but that's just a new dimension in the same way you might not anticipate Solid s*** or Zero Suit Samus in the match pic until the night before the match.

Besides, there's no proof this actually changed the outcome. Zelda was close even without it...and sorry to break it to you but rallies have likely played a role in every close match in history. Particularly stuff like Snake/Seph 2006 where Snake dominated the final update to win, when on the previous update there were only two votes in it iirc. 100% Snake swung that with a rally.

So it definitely looks like I was off on Pika/MM being around Snake level. Re-ordering my tiers based on today's results.

Tier 0: Link

Lulz no one will even break 40 on him the whole contest.

Tier 1: Zelda>Snake>Mario>Samus + Cloud

Not sure where Cloud fits in, he could be above Zelda or below Samus. We will probably see him face someone from the Snake/Mario/Samus group in the loser's semis though to get a read.

Tier 2: Megaman>Pikachu>Crono

We will be get more information on this order after MM/Crono, but I suspect its MM>Pika>Crono. Its unclear whether Sonic belongs on this level or a tier below. Seemed obvious he was a tier below after Zelda/Sonic, but now after Zelda/Mario it seems like Sonic could possibly compete with these guys.

Tier 3: Sonic>Tifa>X>Luigi>Seph>Bowser>Kirby

Depending on how much SFF was in Tifa/Seph, Seph could possibly still be ahead of Luigi and also possibly (but unlikely) X as well. Alternatively, if there was no SFF, its possible Kirby (who is indirectly stronger than Bowser) could beat Seph. Tifa>Sonic seemed likely before today, but 43 on Zelda looks to be stronger than 41 on Samus now (so much so that Sonic might actually belong on Tier 2, would love to see a MM or Crono vs Sonic bonus poll).

I dunno
I put them 9 hours after the match started...Zelda was leading by 100 legit
She struggled a bit to keep the lead overnight and after the rallies she started to increase to around 180...but it could be trends too

She could have won without porn rallies too imo, we will have to wait to see the spread

It's obviously making an impact. Why did formerly mid- to upper-tier female characters suddenly explode in popularity this contest, with all except Zelda without recent popular games to support such a massive boost? It's not as if all of GF suddenly joined Me Too. It's losers like you who are distorting the results at everyone else's expense.

Will Zelda's winning percentage will be the lowest of the contest???

Zelda winning today will save my bracket but Zelda beating Snake also f***ed my bracket out of like the Top 5 in the first place probably so...

In retrospect, it might've been better for Zelda if she lost this match. Then she'd get to clown more Noble Niners and gain some more bandwagon power before fighting Link.

This is super inaccurate. All those threads have images attached to them - you click on the thread, it pulls up the image. You have to scroll down to the comments section to find a different link if you want to go to GameFAQs, and that's assuming you care about the contest match in the first place - the vast majority of the people there just want to look at the attached image, the title of the reddit thread itself might as well be filler text. I think you're grossly overestimating how many people are upvoting those links for GameFAQs instead of porn. The Reddit->GameFAQs crossover rate is probably around 10% of the people who upvote and I'm not exaggerating. Remove all the rallies and Zelda wins anyway. It's not a close enough result to swing things.

Yeah, this match could challenge both records. I don't foresee Zelda's lead ever exceeding Mega's max from his win so that record should be hers unless Mario actually takes the lead at some point. The max lead by either side in Pikachu's win was 237, which is still in Zelda's reach but her lead hasn't been in the 200s since midnight.

This is hilarious though. I hope Zelda goes all the way (no pun intended) and beats Link. I don't think it will happen but the very fact that I feel that the chances of it aren't zero is what makes this contest so amazing.

Well these next two matches will answer a lot of questions regarding the pecking order in the noble nine

Zelda/Link could be fun just for the battle between Chloe and Draven. All this time we thought Draven had last place locked up in the raw stats, and then a challenger approaches out of nowhere.

Megaman tends to drop a lot after the first few hours. Crono managed to prevent bleeding percentage to Bowser on both matches almost entirely.

based on trends i think Megaman needs to have a decent lead going into the europe vote to win.

Guess this match shows that ZSS doesn't seem to hurt Samus anymore. In 2006, it hurt Samus because ZSS was revealed not too long before her match with Tifa, so few people were familiar with the ZSS design.
