Mario blowing out Samus was not luck.

pretty sure there's still one there, i was just confused

Either way, mine only has like 100 views so it's done almost nothing.

Either Tifa got a bandwagon or Luigi is just slightly weaker than X.

Like I can't even tell you how upset I'd be

We're set up to have some all time great matches in the legends bracket, with some of our all time contest greats

and Tifa blows that all to hell coz of an offsite rally

No, it would be bad. Catastrophic. Even if I'd have some small joy about FFVII winning the contest again, it would very much be a case of NOT THIS WAY.

very impressive performance by Sephiroth, Ryu was looking very strong and he is going to wind up 60-40ing him when all said and done. Pretty good.

Both are plausible. I thought Luigi > X was likely but I definitely don't see it as crazy that X would be the stronger of the two.

By the way, how was seeding determined for the Legends? How does Mario end up at #7?

She’s been pretty consistent in strength from the very first contest outside the female bracket.

This is only correct if you discard a bunch of other things dentists have agreed upon like

1. Mega Man gets SFFed/LFFed by Nintendo. We've seen evidence of this.
2. Sonic boosted between 04 and 06 as well (since he beat Crono and stats had never suggested he could)
3. Samus is completely on an island from Nintendo and wouldn't boost when Nintendo did, despite being SFFed by Mario and Link many a time.

Like the stats dentists agree upon literally have Samus boosting in 06. That's not me dishing out a wild theory that's you dishing one out and one you haven't really argued much aside from saying Samus is projected for a similar percentage on those two in 06 and 04. But you need to assume Sonic didn't boost and Mega didn't get SFFed for that to be relevant

MM may have gotten SFFed by Link, if that’s what you’re saying. Doesn’t change that Samus has shown extreme consistency in strength from the very start. She actually is probably our most consistent character along with Link, come to think of it.

I already noted how 2K4 was peak Crono. Sonic didn’t seem to boost from 2K5 to 2K6 if you look at guys like Squall Vincent Dante. And you were saying boosts should have an explanation, why would Sonic boost?

Samus is certainly less a Nintendo mascot than Mario and Link.

The “dentists” never agree on adjusted stats. Those are always made by an individual. I have no idea who made the stats you brought up or what the assumptions were, and I already noted I don’t give much weight to adjusted stats, especially complex adjustments. And you are criticizing “dentists” while using a “dentist’s” adjustments as evidence.

Since I’m sure the “dentist” consensus has a lot better track record than yours, you’re not going to get anywhere attacking the notion of consensus itself. You have to show why your denial of the obvious is a better hypothesis, and you’ve not done this at all.

I believe that Samus could have beaten many opponents more badly than Mario could have, but she will always lose to Mario due to SFF.

You’re the first I’ve ever seen claim Samus boosted, when again she’s been one of our most consistent characters.

It's funny that all these people who claim things are super obvious aren't dominating the oracle every contest. Lopen does at least have the #1 pick the match we're discussing but when you look at oracle history as a whole I think it's fairly safe to say creative is head and shoulders above most when it comes to analyzing strengths and predicting how matches go.

Saying Mario beats Samus every year via rSFF/SFF is entirely reasonable.

Though are you claiming he was indirectly stronger than her in 2K4? I don’t see how that would be unless Link SFFed Crono quite a bit, and I don’t buy that. Mario got handled by Crono that year, and Samus did better on Cloud than Crono on Link.

Yeah Seph is really pleasantly surprising me here.

Oh no, Samus was definitely indirectly stronger in 2004. Not saying otherwise. My point is that the people who used that to think Samus wasn't going to get her ass whipped by Mario 1 on 1 are being idiots. It involves having a level of common sense so low that you might as well be telling me there are more than two genders.

It really is pathetic how people here complained about the Reddit rallies last time but justify them this time “because they’re smaller.” They still affect outcomes 😂

A "spat", or an argument, implies multiple correct interpretations. Doesn't exist here. There is no planet where Samus can beat Mario 1 on 1.
