Regarding the Peru VPN stuff - while the Peru percent may indicate the attempted VPN stuffing attempts worked, that’s not necessarily the case.

X was over 90% against Ocelot in Peru. Was anybody actually stuffing that blowout...? He seems to do well in South America in general.

Also this site seems to have good anti-stuffing measures. It may be that it catches the large majority of VPN votes.

Either because they aren’t fully hiding that it’s a VPN, because the stuffer didn’t properly clear cookies, or maybe Allen has a database of VPN IPs to ignore, etc.

The issue is that Peru votes heavily one way in every match though. At least that's what Luster said when he brought it up. Like we aren't talking 60/40s here, it was like 80-90 from what Luster said. I'm sure he can provide more details

So it isn't that they were necessarily stuffing for MMX as they are doing it in every match for one character or another. It's just weird and this is the first match where it was close enough to matter.

Agreed, the basement dwelling perverts are pathetic people.

The best way to snuff out rallies is to just hide the percentages until the next poll has started

It’s funny how everyone focuses on the Tifa hentai rallies that got no upvotes or views and not the fairly successful MMX rally or exthas actual tifa rally

So it may not have been the hentai rallies, but some other ExTha rally?

What other rally was this, and how did the threads compare in upvotes and comments?

Alright so I made my rally on the FF subreddit in the early afternoon.

At some point (AFTER 5pm) someone linked to it on the FF Record Keeper subreddit.

Also Tifa was dominating across Europe, Asia and Australia

I know they represent a smaller portion of the site's traffic and it was bed time for some of those areas, but still it starts to add up eventually.

America got a big chunk of its registered user votes out of the way in the first 7-8 hours anyway

I'm definitely not pro rally, but when I saw Tifas lead crumble and a 1.7k viewed MMX reddit rally post appeared, easily the most successful attempt at a rally this contest, all bets were off

And this is why I don't feel the Tifa rallies were unfair. I'd understand if MMX wasn't being rallied and the Tifa rally swinging it for her but if not for the MMX rally in the first place, Tifa likely wins without rallying. The Tifa rallies were basically retaliation to the MMX rally that was substantial.

Seems reasonable given everything we know about Mega Man performance in South America. With all these comments about 'they did the math' I was expecting a 200-10 number to be what raised suspicions. Why would anyone go through the trouble of stuffing votes, but stop at 30 or so? If you assume Tifa naturally got those 15 votes, and based on everything we know, MM going 80-20 in South America is realistic, how many of those 80 votes are people claiming were 'stuffed'?

Everyone keeps quoting this '1.7k views' number, but what does that actually mean? THere were only 52 comments, and 176 upvotes. Even if you assume a 100% conversion on the upvotes, that doesn't account for the 500 or so rally votes Tifa brought in from the hentai subs.

Just to be clear, aren't the Peru stuffer and the VPN stuffer different issues? I think people are mistakenly conflating them. The possible VPN stuffer was brought up fairly early (Monika Vs. Wario maybe) and the Peru thing is from Draven's match.

Not sure that Peru's results in this last match really point to anything though. 86.36% seems like a low number for a stuffing inflected result. Cirno's number when she was caught for example was 99.95 or something like that. Peru has to have a low enough voting base that even tens of MMX votes should be throwing things off by more.

When you look at the individual updates towards the end, it is clear both sides were benefitting from rallies. They were both getting substantially more votes in the final 2 hours than they did in their previous matches whereas they should have been getting less due facing stronger opposition. You're saying Tifa got 500 extra votes and acting like MMX didn't get similar amounts. You don't go from 20-30 vote updates against Isabelle/Ocelot to 50-60 vote updates against Tifa in the same time frame without outside help.

They both got a ton of help down the stretch. Maybe Tifa got more than MMX during that stretch but there was periods earlier in the day where MMX was benefitting from the substantial rally and Tifa was not since her rallies started at the end of the match. So it likely evens out.

1) Stronger characters naturally bring in higher votals, so comparing the per update votes to Round 1/2 blowouts is meaningless
2) Close matches also naturally bring in higher votals
3) The MMX 'rally' was posted early this morning, when Tifa was still rolling strong. There weren't any MMX rallies posted towards the end of the match, if we assume the hentai perverts had a 70-30 bias towards Tifa, we can assume that MMX was en route to a 300-400 vote win before that kicked in

I think there are a few lines to draw when disliking vs liking rallies

1. Overwhelming numbers that can totally drown out our votes
2. You think it's likely more cheating than actual rally
3. The rallying is very one sided
4. The rallying favored something you don't like

I think all of these are distinct reasons to be anti rally for some or most and not for others. Only the last one potentially applies to the Tifa/MMX match. It was a much more fair rally than most of the ones people here complain about

I think the 1st or 3rd reasons turn off most people on this board, with a sprinkle of the 4th cause we're all rooting for our guys. Me it's mostly 2 but all the others are slight turnoffs too

I’d add, is it a counter-rally?

I see no problem with small-scale counter rallies.

If X rallied first, and neither rally drowned the other, and the votes seem to be legit - who gives a crap? That’s just a fun match.

People seem to be conflating different kinds of rallies for the sake of...agendas is the best way I can put it, LOL!
