I mean I don't think he's wrong in the sense that I think trends suggest MMX winning. I don't see him "running away with it", since I think he'll perform worse here than he did at the start of the match, but I also don't see Tifa's performance improving from this point onward. As I see it, current trends should stick until perhaps a decent MMX surge at the very end of the match when Europe goes to bed to have MMX win by like 200-250 votes or something. on, Tifa. Fight back. I would love to have it be a nail biter that
comes down to the last few updates...(But I still want MMX to win in the
end) Regarding tomorrow's match, I can't help but wonder if Vivi could win. Ganondorf's victory on Dante was impressive, but we just don't know where Dante is at this year. He gets an expected 52% on Chun Li and 58% on Spyro the Dragon. What if if we're dealing with a weaker Dante? DK got 56% on Leon Kennedy, on the other hand. Ganondorf winning with 52-53% would put Tidus and Spyro nearly on the same level, I believe... weird. It would be amazing to see Vivi pull it off, but I'm expecting Ganondorf to win without much trouble, with 52% at least... What about Zero beating PIkachu? Erm... if Yoshi is worth less than 55% on Wario, then Zero has a serious shot at winning! (okay, so there's NO way Yoshi only gets 55% on Wario, so forget that I ever brought this up, hrhrhr....) "Ah, a party!

Yeah
I think Mega Man X will probably win-- I've thought he will probably
win since Tifa capped her lead at under 200, but Mega Man vs FFVII also
isn't really a matchup we see that often and trends are formed by two
entrants not one (Mega Man vs Master Chief at this gap at this point of
the match would favor Master Chief, for example) so I mean, yeah, the
overconfidence is rather silly, particularly since he called for Mega
Man X to take over for like several hours in a row before it actually
happened. No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

Match CXIII: (4) Ganondorf vs. (3) Vivi Current Contest Performance Ganondorf Defeated Neku Sakuraba, 78.60% - 21.40% Defeated Chun-Li, 58.91% - 41.09% Defeated Dante, 56.40% - 43.60% Vivi Defeated Yu Narukami, 74.89% - 25.11% Defeated Aya Brea, 75.45% - 24.55% Defeated Donkey Kong, 54.98% - 45.02% Analysis Welcome to the fourth round. We are now reduced to two matches a day. Last round Ganondorf showed that his performance against Chun-Li was all Chun-Li getting stronger as he laid an impressive smackdown on Dante. Not to be deterred, Vivi also easily took down Donkey Kong who looked mightily impressive in the first two rounds. I feel Vivi’s performance in 2013 has been legitimized a bit. He’s not taking down noble nine characters, but it does look like he’s made the jump from borderline elite to being within the mix. For Ganondorf I think the jury is still out on whether he got a boost from Breath of the Wild. Clearly Zelda got one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if his boost is a lot smaller. It is possible that Dante never did recover from his poor performance in 2013 when people were upset about DmC. Overall, I still fancy Ganondorf’s chances. He was already one of the strongest non-Noble Nine characters and I doubt Breath of the Wild did nothing for him. The down side of course, is his next opponent will be Link which will end up in a huge SFF blowout. At least we have the loser’s bracket for x-stats adjustments. charmander6000’s Bracket: Ganondorf > Vivi charmander6000’s Prediction: Ganondorf wins, 53.26% - 46.74% Match CXIV: (1) Zero vs. (7) Pikachu Current Contest Performance Zero Defeated Primrose, 74.18% - 25.82% Defeated Knuckles the Echidna, 56.15% - 43.85% Defeated Wario, 60.25% - 39.75% Pikachu Defeated Scorpion, 66.41% - 33.59% Defeated Kratos, 63.41% - 36.59% Defeated Yoshi, 54.80% - 45.20% Analysis If people were still doubting Pikachu it pretty much came to an end after he easily disposed Yoshi in the previous round. Charizard and Mewtwo may not have been as strong as some people were expecting, but Pikachu has been legit since 2010. I always felt that the winner between Yoshi and Pikachu would win the division. Zero has failed to give me a reason for why I should consider him in this match. He has been on the lower end of the elite range for several contests now. Tifa
being the strongest non-Cloud FFVII party member isn't surprising.
Aside from the obvious design stuff, she's in the game the most among
party members, and she's been used in side material more often than
pretty much all the other party members aside from possibly Yuffie (who, as much as I hate to say it, is not in the running for strongest party member for obvious plot reasons) I think it's more Vincent dropped off a cliff due to no one remembering why the hell they liked him in the first place than anything and Tifa and Aeris (who should be expected to be weaker than Tifa for many reasons) holding relatively steady. No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

Everyone likes Tifa. Good design sure, but really important to the plot in ways other heroines rarely are. She's also a cool brawler type instead of some dainty princess or white mage archetype. |

feel like Tifa has always drawn strength from being a first video game
"crush" for a lot of this sites demographic. Character model aside VII
was a deep game and a lot of the characters were more unlikable to
varying degrees but Tifa was always the supportive party member that is
generally underappreciated which is something else a lot of people tend
to relate to. I have always been more surprised by Sephiroth's consistency as a Noble Nine caliber character then by Tifa's ability to remain near elite. Compared to other villains from the site's favorite games and series he has really stood the test of time even if he is not as strong as he was in the past. |

I'm not one of those guys that's going to say he has no character-- he has a well defined character but it's a pretty dull one particularly since it's never really explored due to weak continuity in the MMX series. think almost all of the love of Mega Man X comes from his games being
really good and a very good character design. Which...describes
basically every popular character. Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

It's
ridiculous that you have to defend the site daring to enjoy Tifa, who
by all means is a well-written character with depth, when basically half
of the Noble Nine are more or less avatars and proxies of their
games/series. Like no one has said "it's sad X is winning just because
he's a cool robot" but the "Tifa is just a pretty face/has boobs"

Well Nintendo/Mascot character generally get a pass for everything here Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
Megaman X is just generic main character guy ppl will generally like generic main character guys from popular/good series. |
