mean, thinking about it, I'm not sure if Squall has really done
anything particularly notable since his 2003 run. However, he has
consistently been able to break 40% on Solid Snake (throw out 2002) and,
most damning of all, he has demonstrated the ability to beat down
popular Nintendo characters like Kirby and Yoshi. Oh, and he managed to
slay Missingno when Crono and Tidus couldn't do it. With all that

acting as a LoZ proxy, but I want to at least mention Zelda's awesome
picture. Squall looks great himself, but Zelda may honestly have the
best pic in the bracket. Her Smash Ultimate redesign was met with

Absolutely. I really wonder whether Zelda is sensitive to her picture. Unlike almost every other character I can think of, Zelda's looks and personality drastically changes from game and game and I know many people that like her in one game (like ST or BotW) and dislike her in another.(like TP). I wonder whether the picture might subconsciously steer them into a particular interpretation of Zelda. People earlier in the thread have already mentioned whether voters take Sheik and Tetra into account, and I certainly doubt a casual voter's mind will immediately jump to Zelda being a bad*** ninja if presented with a picture of SS Zelda, etc. congrats to BKSheikah the BYIG guru |

has to be up there for eliminating the most Nintendo characters in
single contest, right? I was going through it in my head last night, and
I can't think of any other characters in outside of 4 ways, even fellow
Nintendo characters. Snake might have in 2013, but I can't remember who
he faced in the first couple of rounds. Draven has three in 2013 as
well, but that's counting Samus in the Finals as an "elimination" which
seems questionable. The only entrants to beat her are all games (Chrono
Trigger, Majora's Mask*and Undertale* all have 4.) *If you consider the loser in a final to be "eliminated." Yesmar |

It is interesting to see how dramatic the effects of rallying are. Take Cube in 2008, for example. The first two rounds, there's a definite spike, but not a dramatic one. A few thousand extra votes compared to the matches immediately before and after it. But in round 3, Cube's match represents a huge spike even though the match right before it was an L-Block match, itself a big increase from the day before! on the leaderboard! I didn't expected to be still there. Seems nobody
found all winners yesterday. Well I sure didn't! Anyways I am okay with
this. Came back from work, checked the results. 1st match=WHAT THE f*** is going on? Seriously? Is this a glitch? A rally? A bug? Don't tell me that all are fine. No! I don't believe it! What? That means that Zelda beats Garrus with like 85%? No way. The only good thing is that it makes Ezio looking good at least. 2nd match=Aerith is winning even though Fox was the favorite? Damn! 3rd match=Hang in the Geralt! Beat the witch! I know you like witches but not this one! 4th match=Sub Zero better than I expected. Nice. So why we exist? What happens when we stop existing? |

far as I can tell, Aeris was the favorite going into the contest, but

Aerith was the favorite pre-contest. I was going to mention how this is proof that RBY would beat FFVII in a games contest (Aeris losing to someone that Blue beat), but Fox might be weaker now because of Star Fox Zero. Then again maybe not. "Nothing I could do!" -Darksydephil |
I'd say Aerith was the Guru favorite but not the Oracle/Crew favorite. Because the latter is based on actual 2018 stats rather than the ancient stuff we have to rely on while making brackets. Zelda would be a good example as someone who is an Oracle favorite but the Guru underdog. |
All
of Geralts matches have been great. Close results, comebacks, a western
character winning, and even actual trends! Star of the contest so far. Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

didn't get a single part of Pac-Man/Bayo's 4-pack right (got Sans >
Riku) but I did have Geralt > Simon and Geralt winning the 8-pack. I
really want Geralt to look respectable against Auron next round. A
legitimately decent, recent, western character is a rare breed. Either way despite having Fox over Aerith today seems alright to me with Geralt and Zelda. Born to lose, live to win! |
