Breath of the Wild is basically the first time Zelda has been a character. I expected her to boost, and I expected Squall to be weaker, but I thought this would be like...a 52-48 result because Squall has historically been significantly stronger. Whoops.

eh, lopen has blundered like 86 matches in the analysis crew topic >.> leonhart is allowed to have an occasional miss. (though i guess there is a difference in that leonhart is an official member of the crew and lopen isn't.)

Also I was never going to go back on Squall > Zelda out of principle. After round 2, at most all I said was I thought he could still win.

Anyway, I have no internet at the moment, so I'll have to post X-Stats later since I don't want to major manually enter them all on my phone.

What? This opinion is probably more due to annoyance than an honest appraisal of the character. She's not consistent - obviously because she's not the same person in each game - but Zelda has at least had interesting character traits in WW, SS, and BotW. Hell, even in OoT, she was Sheik. She kicked ass in that game.

Also Zelda has been a character since OoT. BotW Zelda is the best character she's been though.

I wonder if people actually include Sheik and Tetra when they think of Zelda as a character. We always gets pictures of Princess Zelda, and I feel like that makes us forget her more complex portrayals.

I never played Skyward Sword.

In OoT you see her once early game, where she essentially tells you to go do all the work for her. When time passes, she shows up randomly to give you songs and doesn't actually do anything. Then after her big reveal she immediately gets kidnapped by Ganondorf.

Tetra is a fun character in Wind Waker until she becomes Zelda, which is her cue to immediately sit in a room and do nothing for most of the game. Becoming Zelda makes her a worse character!

Yeah, there isn't a single character in the main bracket that I'd take over Zelda at this point. Not Sephy, not MMX, not Ryu. This is a legitimately insane performance.

Snake should still be the decisive favorite, but that match is no longer unwinnable for Zelda as of today.

Nah, it's plausible. Snake beats both. Zelda then just has to beat Auron to reach him in the Loser's Bracket.

Snake would have to go back to being near the bottom of the Noble Nine for that to happen. Back in 2013, Snake appeared to be the second strongest character in the contest, so it would take an incredible drop to put Snake near the bottom of the Noble Nine again.

Squall is under 37% now

Zelda probably loses SOME of this sheen once Link comes to town, so Snake should be safe. Plus again, I think those legends will be overpowered the first time we see them.
