TWEWY had really aesthetically pleasing characters though, and seeing some of them in HD on a PS4 would have been cool.

I remember Erica from Celadon City just f***ing giving Ash her Gym's badge after he stopped Team Rocket or some s***. He didn't even beat her in a Pokemon battle!

I understand giving them enough screen time might be an issue, but having 12-15 Pokemon could work, especially if you make a couple already strong (like Snorlax) so they don't need as much training and only need to show up every now and then in non-gym/league episodes.

I don’t know anyone over the age of 10 who still watches that anime. It’s targeted towards an even younger generation than the mainline games.

Clearly, the repetitive plot is to milk the series for as long as possible. You’d think that after 22 years Pokemon fans would finally wake up and realize they’re being ripped off. 🤔

I stopped watching the show or even playing the games over a decade ago. Doesnt stop me feeling nostalgic for the original games and voting for Red. I'm sure many feel the same

He stopped Team Rocket after working with them to break into the gym.

Ash didn't earn most of the badges in Kanto. Good thing they mostly put a stop to that.

Analysis

As impressive as 2B was last round, I’m not expecting much out of her overall. Anyone can break 75% if their opponent is weak enough. Still, among newcomers I do feel 2B will be among the strongest, though that’s more about the newcomers being weak.

I’d give her a solid chance at scoring the upset. Ness isn’t anything special and his performance against Shadow last round hasn’t changed my opinion. Though I guess Sonic characters have been performing well so maybe the performance was good. In terms of x-stats it would be better for Ness to lose because he folds when going up against a Nintendo opponent.

Analysis

This is a rematch between the two characters with Charizard winning in 2010. He however, had Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver released on the same day, giving him a huge advantage. This time he has no advantage. His first-round match against Terra also did not give his backers any confidence that he could pull the upset.

Bowser on the other hand utterly crushed Gordon Freeman and while it wasn’t unexpected that he would be weaker it was quite shocking to see him getting tripled. Despite Pokemon doing well over the last two days, I don’t think the same will happen to Charizard. I expect a respectable performance, but a loss nevertheless.

Analysis

Both characters did around as expected last round. Phoenix removed any doubt that he may have gotten weaker while Ike did okay against a new character that is expected to have some strength. It is difficult to say where Joel ranks, but Ellie did perform well against KOS-MOS so I believe that the two won’t be weak fodder.

Honestly this comes down to whether you believe Ike or Marth is the strongest Fire Emblem character. I’ve always been a supporter of Ike. While Marth was a fan favourite in Melee, Ike was the character a lot of Fire Emblem fans got to play as on console. In favourite Fire Emblem character polls Ike tends to dominate Marth. After being added to the Smash Bros. roster I don’t really see a reason to back Marth in this fight. Of course, Phoenix has a bit of a buffer to work with given he got around 55% against Marth, but I think Ike, along with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hype will be enough to win.

Analysis

Poor Isaac, relegated to an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and getting to face off against the main character of the game. Kirby looked really good last round, especially considering what Chun-Li did to Ganondorf a couple of days ago. Of, course that can easily be due to Guile being a lot weaker than Chun-Li.

Relatively speaking Isaac is like Pokemon in that he is able to avoid getting SFFed to the ground due to his games being on a handheld system. Still Kirby is more than strong enough to score a blowout and possibly give himself a chance at winning the division.

Feel pretty bad about Wright tonight. I feel he can get 56% at the freeze and then lose by 44%. (I can see Kefka doing this next round against Alucard actually.)

Ike is definitely better than Marth. Marth is all Smash. Ike actually gets some strength from Fire Emblem; most of his strength is Smash still, but he has some functionality without it. In today's Smash fandom that is sick to death of Fire Emblem Ike generally fares okay with them still.

and he is voiced by some late 30s guy trying to sound like a teen

I wouldn't say this match is indicative of Sora being anti-voted. Red was actually the favorite going into according to the lol x-stats.

Ike doesn't get much strength from Fire Emblem. Fire Emblem is straight-up bad on this site without Smash to fall back on. The best result the series has ever had is an easy loss to KOTOR.

Earthbound is a terrible game, and I never understood why it is so popular here. Nier Automata on the other hand was one of the most refreshing games I've played this generation

There is a downvote button but people who run a particular subreddit can add a custom layout that disables the downvote button among other things. Apparently that subreddit does just that. You can disable the custom layout on your end if you really want to downvote someone

Ness is primarily known through Smash Bros., and the Smash boost is extra this year.

"Ness kind of sucks" is the best reason to believe 2B can win this.

I just don't think she went high enough on Cayde-6.

Also, we've got several characters who've never been to round 3 before with a real shot at getting there this year (including Wario, who's already there). Ness, KOS-MOS, Phoenix, and Tails could all finally make round 3 this year.

2B could have gotten 90% against Cayde-6 and still be the underdog. No one likes Cayde-6

Eh, that's a bit of an overstatement. 90% is really hard to get unless you're at least somewhat decent. What's the weakest thing that's ever gotten 90% in a match?

Under 80% on Cayde-6 isn't very good though.

Even Amateratsu (who is decent, has good design and probably won't get anti votes) couldn't 90% Draven, so without SFF, it seems hard to do.
After all, a noble nine's antivotes might be enough to prevent the 90%

I give 2B a non-zero chance at victory
But I also gave the same thing to K Rool and we all know what happened!

Looking at Oracle it seems like Ness is overwhelming favorite and expected to win by a decent amount. I figured 2B might have a chance at the upset
