Well the 3-way played a big part in it, so no idea how it would work on a 1vs1 format

468 is not a impossible lead to beat
But the question is - why would he? are their trends really that different that they would cause something like that to happen?

I'd say it's quite unlikely. Sora's best hope is probably that he's quite close to Red in the US and Pokemon is quite frontloaded. Sora also seemed to have his best hours early though, so the difference is minimal at best.

I think this is a drop for Big Boss based off Revolver allowing King Dedede to nearly beat him and Quiet stinking up the place against Aqua. Not ruling out this idea of late 90s-mascots boosting, but it's confusing to see Crash's trilogy-remaster be more effective than Ridley's inclusion in Smash going from big meme to big hype in the midst of all this other Smash-dominance we're seeing.

Maybe pic-factor too, I just thought Big Boss had enough games now where his MGS3-look wasn't as necessary anymore.

EDIT: Yes, I realize Crash > Ridley in the stats is happening now no matter what and neither a Big Boss drop nor pic-factor really changes that. I just don't have confidence this is the same Big Boss we've seen in the past.

i doubt most of the people who watched the anime when they were children (because everyone did) and stopped watching when they grew up have much of a problem with ash, though.

perhaps die hard fans of the anime who are still watching hate him now, but it seems wrong to extrapolate that to "everyone."

Trying to be hopeful but a 600 vote comeback seems impossible without at least some sort of KH messaging effort.
