It's
still hard to make much of this Pikachu match. Kratos looked good last
round, but I could easily see John Marston being absolute ass on top of
getting SFF'd, so Kratos hasn't necessarily done all that well. In any
case, it looks like he'll end up looking fine, Pikachu is bleeding

I think it will still be closer than a lot of people are saying though. The result of that match depends entirely on how overrated you think Pikachu was in 2013. 2013 stats have Pikachu winning with 54%, but that also looks like the peak we've seen Pokemon on this site. Then again, 2013 stats also have Zero getting just shy of 70% on Kratos (Pikachu projected to 72%), and they were really close to eachother in the bracket (I don't know how the stats adjusted for Mega Man/Zero though). Yeah.
If you read my analysis in the matches in all of them I say Smash Boost
because well that is the truth. If the contest was held next year
things would be different. Now since they hype for the game is massive
everyone get's a power surge. So why we exist? What happens when we stop existing? |

A lot of the current contest matches are being decided by "sony/MS series that stopped getting anything new 10 years ago gets stomped by thing that just got a game on the Switch". Ninja Gaiden, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, etc. Most of the game industry, when they get a new series, milk it to the end, then discard it in favor of some shinier thing. Nintendo keeps their mascots forever. Sure a lot of the games they make with those mascots suck, but they can always release a new one next year. In a site made of people who have been gaming for 20+ years, of course Nintendo will be the winner, because almost no other company keeps their series rolling for 20+ years. Heck, when they do, their IPs are invited to be added into Smash (Mega Man, Castlevania, FInal Fantasy, etc). |

@abdou I was playing RPG's mostly. And all Pokemon games of course which are RPG's too yeah. I just like RPG's! So why we exist? What happens when we stop existing? |

I owned all those plus a gamecube and I've never played a Zelda or Smash or Kirby and last Mario I played was 64. Last Metroid I played was Super Metroid. |

Story in Smash works more on coolness and nostalgia factor than on storytelling. |

Then
there's me who plays fighting games for the storyline. Granted that
pretty much applies to BlazBlue which half the time is a visual novel
that remembers it is a fighting game so tosses a fight in there before
going back to 30 mins of story! |
I
played Skullgirls for the storyline and quit once I finished the story
and realized it was aimed at competitive fighting players and I don't
care for that. |

I'm
from the UK. Sonic and the Mega Drive in general were huge, and it did
beat Nintendo. The SNES did do really well though, I knew a load of
people who had them and the sales were I believe relatively close.
However, Mega Man didn't get popular there until 9. I have no idea why,
they all came out. I have met obe Mega Man fan in my entire life. _Dog_ posted... You are right about the NES, but Nintendo did win a console war - the Wii outsold both the PS3 and 360, and the highest selling system of all time in the UK is the DS. Pokémon has deboosted back to 2010 levels, no doubt. Whether that's enough for Sora to beat Red remains to be seen... BTW, who is going to get anti-voted more: Sora or Red? Will they cancel each other out? Here lies the sig of BK_Sheikah00, who swore fealty to the Gurus of Board 8. |
