Sooo... apparently King K. Rool is significantly Ramza? (based on the assumption that Shepard > Garrus) I didn't expect that. For that matter I didn't expect KKR to be able to compete with Waluigi, but after accounting for a Shepard drop, apparently he can. KKR's doing what I expected Diddy Kong to do if he faced Shepard.

Yeah it's kinda sad that these Nintendo matches have become so formulaic that I'm more interested in "HELL YEAH GOBBLE UP THAT PERCENTAGE LLOYD IRVING" than King K. Rool vs Shepard.

The way Smash is going in this contest, I'm wondering who in the series couldn't beat Ramza, aside from the absolute bottomfeeders like Isabelle.

Also fun fact; no new character was able to defeat a returning character. The six which made it to the second round all defeated another new character.

Geralt retroactively star of the round for easily winning a contested match against Smash

Now he just needs to do that two more times!

Where does KOS-MOS strength come from? She looks just as normal to me as Monika or Neptune, and Xenosaga is the weakest Xeno series.

Xenosaga was a popular RPG that people used FAQs for back when FAQs were still the main way to seek help in a video game.

Don't know what to make of Shep. Really don't see why they'd fall, even though Andromeda was hated it shouldn't hurt Shepard. Is K. Rool just that strong?

Makes for one hell of a match though, so it's all good.

To be fair, I was she started really early at like 70%, and then dropped to late 50s a few minutes in before stablizing here.

KOS-MOS is now a massive Xenoblade 2 meme, and that game sold about as much as the three Xenosaga games put together so from there now.

Draven is now winning in four countries: Peru, Belarus, Zimbabwe, and Myanmar.

The percentage for Draven in Peru looks very suspicious. Draven has 100% in Belarus and Zimbabwe, and 66.67% in Myanmar. So for Belarus, Zimbabwe, and Myanmar, you can assume those percentages are due to the very low vote totals from those countries.

For Peru, the percentages I'm seeing are consistent with much higher vote totals. In fact, these were the Peru results from all 4 matches yesterday:

Albert Wesker - 87.17%
Richter Belmont - 89.30%
Draven - 82.89%
Metal Man - 88.24%

In all 4 cases, Peru heavily favored the winner. I strongly suspect a vote stuffer from Peru, or someone using proxy servers hosted in Peru. It's clear the vote stuffer favored all 4 winners with 100% of the vote, while the non-stuffed votes from Peru are being split between both characters.

After doing research, I can confirm there were 187 votes from Peru in all 4 matches. This includes the registered user bonus. If all of these votes had been legitimate, we would also expect the regular polls having vote totals from Peru which reflects the overall vote totals of the regular polls. So far, the contest matches have been pulling in about twice as many raw votes as the regular polls currently running alongside this contest.

Only one regular poll has shown signs of vote stuffing from Peru and that was yesterday's poll where Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee / Pikachu! got 94.57% in Peru. This is consistent with a minimum of 92 votes from Peru, although the regular polls don't have the registered user bonus. All of the other regular polls running during the contest are showing percentages consistent with less than 10 votes from Peru.

Given the 187 votes from Peru in yesterday's matches, it seems like the vote stuffer might also be using accounts created prior to the start of the contest, meaning they get the registered user bonus.

Yeah KOS-MOS has basically been semi adopted into the Nintendo family because of Xenoblade 2

I've played Xenosaga, Project X Zone and I love Kos-mos and still voted Ellie because Kos-mos is a literal niche character.

Since the Last of Us 2 isn't out yet Ellie still remains a character you escort and only play as in a DLC

Aside from the playable characters there's Zero, Knuckles, Master Hand, Shantae, Big Boss, Alucard, Bomberman, Shadow, Isaac, Guile, Metal Sonic, Shovel Knight, Captain Toad, Waluigi, Tails, Geno, Ocelot and X.

Who the heck isn't in the Nintendo Family at this point

TLOU fanbase in general is pretty whiny when people don't consider it the seminal accomplishment of its generation.

It happens sometimes I suppose. Epona had plenty of attention, but also Doc Louis got last place in a vote-in so it won't always work out.

It's funny, that before I even researched how strong Shepard was, my first instinct was to go with K.Rool. I mean, you have the Smash hype/ iconic Nintendo villian vs someone whose series left everyone very angry. Not surprised it's close.

The exhaustion factor...

I'm getting a little exhausted of matches personally... we have gone through so many in a fairly short period of time. 56 matches in a 2 week period is a lot... not sure if any of you are feeling the same way? We've gone through 120+ characters in a 14 day period.

It is hurting my enthusiasm for the contest, and I didn't realize it until now.

I'm a little, today's matches are giving me dejavu.

I like to believe the next few rounds will renew the interest, since most of the fodder is out now.

I'm getting a bit bored of matches because they seem so formulaic. Like I said this King K. Rool match is basically done even though it still looks close.

I blame the match start time and the spread of smartphones. But I do think if matches still started at 2-3am EST they'd be more interesting-- of course you wouldn't be here for the start of them without putting effort in which would be a problem but you know.

It's kind of sad seeing some of these characters who used to be strong now struggling to beat low tier Nintendo characters just because of Smash.

I mean Nintendo winning most of the matches is normal but it feels like it's been taken to a new level because so many other characters have fallen off in the last five years.

it also makes me angry at the Mass Effect fanbase for being so bad because Shepard should've been a strong character for years to come and now the series is dead
