LoL still has a very large fanbase, but the passion has definitely faded, and passion is what gets ralllies going.

Yeah I'm not saying no one plays League or it's at any risk of shutting down or anything but it's far from a hot game at this point.

Plus, I don't know if they could get ginned up to ruin our contest again anyway.

The big problem Draven is facing is that the LoL Reddit doesn't want to do this again, which cuts off a big source of rallying. Even the people rallying on other platforms like Twitter or other social media likely heard it about it from Reddit, so it's like cutting it off at the source.

I know some kids who play fortnite and while I've always scoffed at the idea that League of Legends or World of Warcraft playerd were too engrossed in their game to vote I'd believe it for Fortnite.

Kinda surprised Mewtwo only had 59% of brackets. He was the lower seed, but still.

Despite how popular Pokemon is, it rarely has good prediction percentages outside of Pikachu.

Same thing with FFVII characters who aren't Cloud and Seph.

Considering how well Pokemon did in 2013 and 2015, it underscores the fact that the only thing the rest of the site remembers is who won the finals.

And even then, they don't have to like that. Ain't that right, Draven?

I dunno. As Cloud and Sephiroth can attest, sometimes the rest of the site can't even remember that much!

Well, they remember the finals of 2 or 3 contests, and think it's every single of one of them. They even split it with Link somehow so they all win every time.

Seeing Draven lose like this feels SOOOO good. I thought it was possible Draven could be significantly weaker than even his natural strength in 2013, but...13%? ^0^

I hope that my relatively high Ammy prediction (78%) will boost me a few places in the Oracle challenge. My spread betting is not looking likely to be very successful today, though. (Richter turned out to be a little more popular than I thought, and Metal Man a little weaker than I thought)

Assuming 2018 Draven = 2013 Draven, how much does 2018 Amaterasu get on Spring Breeze Dancin’ through unadjusted x-stats?

If this holds, just wait until the contest is over and we could get some extremely wackier unadjusted x-stats between the champion and him.

I know, I'm kind of... blown away, honestly.

Rumors of Sephy's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

This is pretty much what I expected from Sephiroth.

People forget how high he was before he started falling.

It's no 3rd place and in another tier from the rest of the site, but it does still keep him in the low noble nine/high elite area.

We'll see where on the sliding scale he ends up. Of course, there's other factors to consider - Wesker could very easily be weaker, and honestly it seems like a bad matchup for him regardless as he's facing a stronger badass villain in a trenchcoat. But it's still a good look for Sephiroth after Vincent fell flat on his face.

I think RE has had a pretty good year so far, so this could be pretty good for Seph if he holds or increases. We didn't have a good read on Wesker in 2013 because he drew Leon in the first round (WTF Allen).

Draven is currently winning in three countries right now: Peru, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Syria.

also Lara is quadrupling Metal Man in the UK so she's probably still got room to go up

Sephiroth and Wesker both look like they want to badassly kill each other.

It's kind of weird that Tifa, Aerith, and Vincent all got their classic FFVII portraits, but Sephiroth didn't.

Cloud didn't either, but everyone who's in Ultimate got their portraits from there.

I'm not jumping to final conclusions on Draven yet, but it sure does look nice to see him get his teeth kicked in for the moment.

you're gonna get a few voters with drool running down the side of their chin who vote Draven unconditionally but don't follow the contests enough to do it at the beginning

Seriously though, is non-rally Draven the weakest character in the bracket? He f***in' has to be, right? I wouldn't even take him over Cayde-6.

keep in mind that he was getting blown out by Chie Satonaka before the rally started

but yeah his natural strength already being so pitiful combined with the fact that he's probably being massive anti-voted means it'd be a risk to take him to beat anyone

Right now Draven is losing Arkansas, North Dakota, and Wyoming 100% to 0%.

Also yesterday, Illinois voted for Dedede. Which means that every state has now voted for a losing candidate at least once.

I would reluctantly pick Draven, because at least he's got some name value to him.

Sans.vs. Draven would be rather compelling, because does Draven get more out of being the entity that actually won his contest, or is Sans just a little bit better fit for GameFAQs given that he's in essentially a modern jRPG?

Sans would destroy Draven.

Ammy would have to be able to beat Pac-Man with 77.80% for that to be an equal match.

I think this would actually be an interesting match because it's the closest we could get to a referendum on Draven, I think. Aside from Board 8, you'd think the match would be decided by anti-votes on Draven.

I have to imagine Draven is naturally stronger in a vacuum but if the memory of the rally is that toxic, I dunno.

Draven probably wins but it'd be fascinating (in theory, at least. I think this is probably one of those matches over at the freeze.)

I've always kind of liked Quiet to win that match because I didn't expect much from Aqua since she's mainly known for a handheld side game (regardless of how important it is to the overall story). I think the average voter knows who Quiet is more than they know who Aqua is. Riku's utter flop against Bayonetta just reconfirmed my feelings about Aqua's lack of strength.

If only that Quiet pic wasn't so terrible.

is Quiet from more then just MGSV? have any other characters just from that been in this? how have they done? i thought people didn't like MGSV? pic factor could swing the match? i really do know nothing about a lot of these characters?

Pac-Man rose all day against Sans

Quiet is only in MGSV, and she's the only one just from MGSV in the contest. She's probably the most memorable character from the game, for whatever that's worth.

MGSV is really divisive. A lot of people didn't like it, but there's definitely a portion of the fanbase who thinks it's the best game in the series (or darn close). There's not much in-between.

It's too bad Quiet only has a face pic for tomorrow's match or maybe she would have had a major advantage. (TJF)

MGS hasn't exactly been impressing this contest either, but I suppose it could be just down to it running into Smash every single time and looking bad as a result.

Ocelot winning a close match against a Smash character is a pretty huge win imhotbqh

and it's not like Quiet needs to be that strong to beat Aqua anyway from the looks of it

The big argument in Quiet's favor is that something similar has already happened. Claire got a pretty awful picture against someone standing out with an anime look and still prevailed. In fact, it would still be the same seeding upset of a 15 over 2, so it's something that's already not unprecedented.

On the other hand, how did one Guru bet result in a six, but this one result in a two? You'd think they wouldn't be that far apart, unless there's enough KH3 hype to at least cause Aqua some support here.

Oh, Aqua probably got more support outside of B8 than Sully did, but I wouldn't take that to mean anything. Being stronger than Sully isn't an accomplishment either.

Normally, extra support in nominations wouldn't be anything worth considering.

But, in trying to figure out this godawful fodder match, I'm considering any sort of edge one would have over the other.
