being newer and her 16 seed. I'd take her over Waluigi and (Captain)

Wow. These, uh, these anti-votes are something. I mainly took the upset because I figured Pac-Man's always been weak against anything with any sort of fanbase and relies on the weakness of his opponent to get wins. And, er, then another Sans win because KH gets s*** on so much that I didn't even expect Riku to be there...and then another because honestly, I'd take any of the Sans/Pac-Man/Bayonetta/Riku quartet over any of the Rosalina/Ryu/Simon trio (no I'm not even going to dignify the other member with anything more than a "LOL there was a year between 2014 and 2016?" And yeah, I know Undertale was also released in The Year That Must Not Be Named but I'm still just so mad at how aggressively vomit-inducing radio was that year and literally 80% of good songs that received significant radio play that year were 2014 holdovers, but even that can't be enjoyed as a whole because of Uptown f***, no that's not a typo, seriously f*** that year so hard)...and then Sans is in Round 4 and the bandwagon is rolling. I'm so screwed. I should've just taken Rosalina > Sans in Round 3. f***, I probably would've avoided this if I didn't have so little faith in anything Square that I took Bayonetta > Riku. s***, Bayonetta > Riku is probably happening but it's going to cost me more points than if I'd called it wrong, because I feel like I'd have called KH to stop Sans before he could get rolling. "Someday I'll catch up, and then you'll all be surprised!" BKSheikah has the power. He is the one. |

Ryu Hatabusa: -Was never anything at all special in the old 1-on-1s. -His big win over Riku and Roxas in 2007 is not impressive in light of how Riku has only looked worse and worse since. -Beating Zero in 2008 stunned people but Pit and Dedede probably leached Zero and as Zero almost lost to Vivi that year I'd say 2008 Zero was pretty bad anyways. -Hayabusa's 2010 victory over Master Chief isn't impressive in retrospect either. We blamed him getting killed against Mega Man in the following round on the sprite but it's reasonably in line with his previous 1-on-1 performances. -Hayabusa sort of held up in 2013 but Kefka and Zack probably leeched each other. surprised people would take Simon over Rosalina. Galaxy isn't the
biggest thing on GameFAQs, but I'd certainly take it over Castlevania 1
or 4. And that's pretty much the main argument people have against
Rosalina, that Galaxy isn't that big. She's certainly a well-liked
character by SMG players. Plus her presence outside her main source
games (Mario Kart, Smash 4) is greater than Simon's. Feeling good about Geralt winning two matches now. Also yay, I'm on the leaderboard. Probably gonna get 3/4 today, which... might let me stay on? Geralt and Simon are slowly but surely pulling away, will end up 4/4
today if these results hold but feeling awful about having Geralt to the
divisional finals now, not sure what the hell happened apart from LOL
newer games, to the point where even any fodder nintendo will do well vs
these newer characters |

Would
Dr. Mario really be that much weaker than Mario? Dr. Mario is Mario. I
guess he might lose a bit of strength since a lab coat isn't as iconic
as his normal look but it shouldn't be that much. This was not the best year for my bracket. Congrats to BK_Sheikah00 for winning the BYIG Guru Contest! |
Mario > Dr. Mario because Mario has way more, bigger games. "Toad" doesn't have any games, he's barely even got presence in games except for the ones you can play as him as (SMB2, SM3DW, some NSMBs) and while I love those games they're not exactly the favoured Marios on GameFAQs. I don't see any reason Captain Toad would be significantly weaker. On a purely personal note you can count me as someone who would vote for Captain Toad over more opponents than regular Toad.
