Not even close, considering the worst loss he's ever had was finishing a respectable third in an LFF match to two bandwagoned/rallied entities in 2013.

heck the fact that Squall refused to fold in that match is probably why Vivi lost

Relatively slowly, anyway. That's good to hear though - means Squall isn't nearly as much of a jobber as the board vote made him out to be. Who knows if it'll be enough to beat Zelda, of course, but it's promising at least!

Squall might not break 40%.

He's slowing down now, but the night vote should push him a little to 75% probably.

I haven't given up on him winning that match, no.

You can't take much out of matches vs weak entries between those two. Squall gets anti-voted, which matters a lot.

Honestly guessed Squall would get about this. Zelda is surprising but Ezio could have dropped any amount of strength.

I'd say Zelda is the favorite here, but there is a chance AC is getting anti-voted like crazy due to what was done with the franchise.

I mean in a match like this it might be enough to make a noticeable dent but yeah

I'm laughing at the thought of Hat Kid > Ezio, which might be the one thing that would really make me want a Squall victory.

Also I think Hat Kid was just heavily underestimated. There were people saying she'd be the weakest char in the bracket.

Come on people, she is a highly-aclaimed indie that is just what B8 likes. I see references to her game out there pretty often. Can't be that different from Cuphead.

Ezio and Gordon are probably going to end up below people you wouldn't expect anyway!

I mean unless Zelda and Bowser have surpassed Ganondorf indirectly by a decent margin they'll end up below Neku at the very least

that was the obvious, obvious pick for weakest character heading into the contest IMO

Ezio could 60-40 hat kid and Squall could still beat Zelda, that's how much anti-voting matters in measuring through jobber squashes.

I'm more comparing Hat Kid with Cuphead, no way she's stronger than him.

Lopen is onto something btw. Not a single match had over 80%. These big blowouts aren't very precise.

In total fairness we removed seven of the most likely characters to get huge blowouts from the bracket

Well specifically I meant that Squall gets anti-voted more than most characters but yeah we might have a higher contingent of underdog voting in general given the vote totals have shrunk so much meaning that yeah measuring through fodder is nearly meaningless in general

Well if something is getting anti-voted to the point of being fodder, then I'd say that's just innate weakness.

Anti-votes are more for characters that are winning, not below 25%.

The concept of anti-votes is that it's non-linear. If it's linear then well, that's just "votes".

True, but what I mean is maybe AC is fodder now and Zelda isn't really that impressive.

Which would mean that yes, Ezio loses to Hat Kid.

And that would mean we need to stop nominating him.

Cloud
Sephiroth
Squall
Sora
Tidus
Master Chief

Think those are the main suspects. Possible I'm missing a few. In certain years Link would be on this list too actually.

I'd take Cuphead to break 60% on Hat Kid, but the comparison with him and particularly Shovel Knight still makes sense -- A Hat in Time had some serious Kickstarter attention with a game that delivered to its fans, and its main character is pretty identifiable with its game.

Cuphead/Shovel Knight feels like the best match between the three of them though.

Hmm...That list doesn't have anything from 2015 on it. I wonder if it's been updated because I seem to remember Majora's Mask/Super Metroid being really close from wire-to-wire.

Looking at the updater, it's because Ken/Wesker didn't actually go above Frog/Liquid until the very end of the match. Ken was slowly pulling away toward the end and it didn't go above 460 until there were about 20 minutes left.

Ken/Wesker wasn't 24 hours though. there were a lot of closer 12 hour matches.

First Garrus cut in 40 minutes.
