Bomberman probably gets somewhere between 70-80% I think if he's the 2 seed instead.

Both Alucard and Yuna were suppose to be weaker.

I dunno man I feel like you'd need them to be a lot weaker. Peach generally looks to be barely over the fodder line. Even at their weakest those two were comfortably ahead of that. Plus Peach shows Pac-Man like tendencies where she crumples really hard the stronger the competition gets, so I wouldn't really want to bet on her on any sort of debatable match, personally.

Don't mean to beat you down too much on a pick though I have plenty of bad ones myself. It's just a really weird thing to bank on to me.

Peach wasn't too bad, she got 33% against Tifa in 2006 and would have gotten 35% through Freeman in 2010. To be honest, this is exactly the performance Alucard would have had if he didn't drop. It was a long shot.

Peach > Alucard wasn't a bad pick, honestly. I couldn't see anything beyond that though.

I'd be tempted to take Kefka > Sora at this point.

I'd probably still go Sora > Terra though.
Why does every match in this contest trend in the more boring direction?

Big blowouts get less blowouty, close matches get less close. Surprising results in general look more normal as time passes.

Yeah doublevoting enhances bracket/board voting big time.

Then as that ends, matches quickly trend into what they should look like in theory, and never go back.

I know Cayde is supposed to be turbo fodder, but what are the chances 2B is getting a rally here? 80% is pretty ridiculous.

Is she the rally target?

Gordon is definitely really bad now so it's hard to read how much, if any, is due to Bowser boosting.

It's hard to getting rallies to push a character above 52% or so. Any rallying for 2B would be mostly small time stuff like asking a friend to vote and people likely won't even bother with that.

Bowser looking like a beast. Compared to Ganondorf, I mean, Gordon Freeman should be well ahead of Neku.

Won't be surprising if Valve got weaker because of not making any games for years
Yeah, I said before the contest that this would probably be the weakest Gordon since the GFNW days. I didn't think he'd be this weak though. This isn't good news for GlaDOS if nothing else.

Too early to tell at this point. If GlaDOS wins against Mewtwo or just barely loses, we can call it a Half-Life deboost. Mewtwo going above 60% would suggest general Valve deboost.

I don't know guys. These matches are the most interesting of the contest by far. The trends they are following go against some trends we've seen already. Bowser shouldn't be this strong, Terra isn't this strong, 2B is not Bowser level (I'm guessing)...Shadow and Ness are the two doing what they're supposed to.

Maybe not 2B, but there's something weird happening that's causing the others to look weird too. Is someone else getting a rally potentially?

IDK maybe Gordon just sucks now I guess and 2B is a near top tier mid carder.
Never trust an atom, they make up everything
Terra's been good for the last couple of contests! I tried to tell you guys!

if anyone's getting a rally it's Charizard because Pokemon tends to get rallies if its characters are threatened

There's nothing strange about what 2B is doing. If a character is Tanner or Chester level, you don't even have to be that strong to quadruple them.

Well, the Bowser result is pretty surprising to me in terms of percentage. It's hard to say how much of this is Bowser being good and how much of it is Gordon being bad.

I'm still betting on Vincent over Magus... the gap between them is pretty large. But Magus > Vincent does seem a little more possible with all the changes in character strength.

Bowser vs. Gordon Freeman reminds me of Super Metroid vs. Call of Duty... both were Nintendo vs. FPS that were supposed to be within 65/35, but they ended up nearly 80/20.

You know... if Bowser and Charizard switched places in today's match I bet everyone would have been calling for Charizard > Bowser!

Oh, yeah, and if 2B proves to be fodder next round, 2B vs. Cayde-6 would be only the second 1v1 match in character battle history where fodder has successfully tripled somebody.

What changes?

Look at Kefka and Terra's results in 2010 and 2013. This isn't new.

Magus was still hot garbage in 2010 and 2013. Vincent could have his Turks pic and still beat that Magus.
Haste_2 10/24/2018 8:47:35 PM#142
Oh, are you willing to bet your life that Vincent could not possibly lose to Magus under any circumstance when there's reason to believe CT has increased? I'm just talking slightly possible, not even a 2% chance about Magus over Vincent.

Also if Charizard/Bowser switched, Charizard would likely break 70% on Gordon which could have deceived some about Charizard's strength.

Yeah, 2B is performing right where she should be. We all predicted Cayde to be one of the weakest - if not THE weakest - characters in the racket. And while Terra is doing a little better than I thought, even with SMASHFEAR, it was ridiculous to think Charizard would blow her away. Did anyone honestly think he would double Terra?

Bowser is definitely the biggest surprise of today's matches. And if he manages to finish over 80%, he has to be in contention for the Star of the Round.
