Alucard loses a big percentage....dang.....

Yeah, allow me to immediately redact my statement about Bomberman.

Turns out GameFAQs doesn't like all Final Fantasy characters anymore, they only like the good ones.

Yuna's winning though.

Yeah, Yuna will probably end up with a doubling by the time this is over.

Not sure that's any good though because Godot should be worse than even Edgeworth.

Godot has a cooler design. Then again maybe Ace Attorney has a huge boost. I'm ready for roided out Edgeworth.

Haha, I wish.

I think Terra could've done some real damage with a better bracket placement.
Can you imagine what a Phoenix vs Sephiroth board vote would look like. Good lord.

She's failing to double Godot.

The closest thing to Godot is Edgeworth, who barely beat Agent 47 last contest.

FINALLY a Final Fantasy character looks good, fodder matches aside. I am such a fool for thinking L-Block was going to take it. I figured registered voters still loved their L-Block for whatever reason and I figured Kefka was overrated in the last contest. Maybe that means GlaDOS will do great, too...

Yeah, I can't believe Godot's doing so well here. Godot has great design, but Edgeworth's is good, too, so it would surprise me if Godot > Edgeworth. It appears that FFX's popularity has completely collapsed...

Gulp, not feeling so hot about my Yuna > Alucard pick next round anymore.
17/20 pts - The Great GameFAQs Character Battle X contest!
NP: Alucard/Yuna/Kefka/Bomberman
Yuna will probably push 70% by the time this match is over. She's already hitting 68-69% updates.
Phew everything looks right today

And awesome, Allen responded to my ticket and added score distributions!

Seems more like Kefka is actually deleting lines, so I see it as him damaging foreign territory.

Again, remember how fantastic AA characters' board vote is. She'll be doubling him in max two updates and will probably end around 70%

Doubling achieved.

Also, this is a really good performance for Alucard compared to recent years. Maybe '90s characters did get a boost!

I let FF's overall performance scare me into messing my Oracle up but it's great to see Kefka do well here.

That's more like it, now that the famous Yakuza Board Vote is over.
If I only consulted the Gossip Stones like BKSheikah, instead of listening to Tingle, maybe I could have been the 2017 Guru Champ!
also that was a, uh, 75% update for Yuna

maybe 70% was too conservative

Bomberman gaining percentage. Looking forward to seeing him braking 60%.

The good news is that I have Kefka making it to the division final.

The bad news is that I have Big Boss not only meeting him there, but winning. ._.

I fully expect Bomberman to be the overall favorite.

So.... how many perfect brackets will be left after today? I imagine Bomberman, Alucard, and Kefka will all cause some more of the remaining brackets will fall. Before the contest I was wondering if there would be any perfect brackets left after division 3 was over.

And, speaking of Alucard's success.... I am seriously fearing Simon Belmont's ability to upset Hayabusa, and not just for that reason, but Ridley's impressive performance, too, which suggests that the Smash hype factor is a pretty big thing.

No, we all knew it was crazy. This is still pretty insane to behold though.

We might see Phoenix do the exact opposite against Chris Redfield in a couple days, where he goes from 75% down to 60% by the end.

I don't know. Casuals probably will buy into the seeding, and I don't remember Kiryu beating a Board 8 favorite in nominations, so that 2 seed had to come from somewhere.

Nah, I think with the low number of brackets, I think the people picking have familiarity with the contests. There aren't as many casuals this time. Crash was an overwhelming favorite. Master Hand was the favorite. Bomberman might not be much of a favorite, but I think he will be.

I'm thinking I'll be perfect through at least division 4. The next match that scares me a little is The Boss > Metal Sonic. After that it's D.Va > Aloy, Aerith > Waluigi, and then several matches in division 6.
v_charon 10/23/2018 5:35:56 PM#192
There's no way casuals will even known who Kazuma Kiryu is. Bomberman will be the clear predicting choice.

Division 3, Round 1

Sora vs. Ryo Hazuki
Registered Vote Result:
Sora - 6822 (69.56%)
Ryo Hazuki - 2986 (30.44%)

Anonymous Vote Result:
Sora - 6898 (68.16%)
Ryo Hazuki - 3223 (31.84%)

Neptune vs. Pokemon Trainer Red
Registered Vote Result:
Neptune - 2362 (24.08%)
Pokemon Trainer Red - 7449 (75.92%)

Anonymous Vote Result:
Neptune - 2617 (25.85%)
Pokemon Trainer Red - 7505 (74.15%)

Crash Bandicoot vs. Cecil Harvey
Registered Vote Result:
Crash Bandicoot - 5446 (55.50%)
Cecil Harvey - 4366 (44.50%)

Anonymous Vote Result:
Crash Bandicoot - 5223 (51.61%)
Cecil Harvey - 4897 (48.39%)

Big Boss vs. Ridley
Registered Vote Result:
Big Boss - 5508 (56.14%)
Ridley - 4304 (43.86%)

Anonymous Vote Result:
Big Boss - 5839 (57.69%)
Ridley - 4282 (42.31%)

Unlike with Pikachu, Red doesn't appear to have the same kind of extreme voting differences. I guess Neptune being from a very niche game series ensures that extreme splits are far less likely to happen.

Crash was a huge favorite among registered users, which also matches up with the huge bracket support as a whole. Cecil won the Board 8 bracket vote, which lasted for all of one minute, but Crash wins the overall bracket vote.

I think the Big Boss win against Ridley will be validated pretty quickly. It's likely that Ridley boosted to high heaven and Big Boss still handled him, basically.
