I remember it causing problems for the series in 2015 except for MGS3 (which is good, because that game is still the best game ever imo)

The gameplay was by far the best of the series, but it's literally unfinished, has zero charm like the rest of the series, the camps and bases in the game were absolutely nothing like Ground Zeroes (honestly, Ground Zeroes just shows how badly PP dropped the ball), the story is barely there, there's no memorable characters or bosses (I mean, does anybody here revere Skull Dude or Fire Volgin, But He Has No Character Now on the same level as any other antagonists in the series?), etc. Lots of people hate it in spite of the stellar gameplay.

I put around 300-400 hours into it but I don't see anybody besides, like, Ulti praise it in any capacity.

Nah, Nintendo has been super strong out of the gates every match so far. If Big Boss is ahead now, he's probably okay.

Not feeling good about having him win the division anymore if he can't put some more distance between him and friggin' Ridley.

I had Knuckles, Master Hand, and Crash and changed all three after reading analysis. My beginners luck would have propelled me to victory!

Granted I did have Spyro originally as well.

Yeah, I mean I have Cecil in my bracket, but chose Crash to win in oracle after the first set of matches.

I'm a bit surprised. I guess James was the favourite with the perfect brackets?

Hot take: Big Boss is putting on the worst performance of the contest so far. Even with NintenFear in play, this is not great from someone that some people took to win the division.

Well, after seeing all the other Final fantasy characters fail miserably (except lightning and vivi), this isn't that surprising. Not to mention Spyro hanging in there with Chun Li. Compared to what we thought pre-contest, this is indeed surprising. But at this point in the contest already, Cecil failing to Crash is not a big shocker.
