We have never seen any character get harmed by his addition to Super Smash Bros. There is no precedent for it. If you want to theorize about it and make picks based on it, by all means go ahead. I just don't think it's really likely at all. Especially when Cloud is one of the higher-tier, newbie friendly characters in the game. I'm saying is, if Brawl can beat Melee, I don't think any Smash thing
can be perceived negatively on GameFAQs. Cloud's more like to boost
above Mario and Snake because of Smash 4 than fall because of it. All the stars in the sky are waiting for you. |

Nothing is more telling to me about Brawl than at the conventions I go to. Smash 4, Melee, and 64, you have an incredibly tough time sitting down and getting to play it because of how popular they are and how packed it gets around those consoles. Brawl though? Like, that first week on board 8, if you didn't enjoy that time duking it out with other B8ers every night then you just don't have a soul. I think what drags Brawl down so much for me is the disappointment at what it could have been. And the fact that the hype FAR exceeded the expectation in the end. Also, Brawl came out eleven f***ing years ago and Nintendo still doesn't understand how to do online gaming properly. Melee would beat Brawl 1v1 in another contest no doubt, but there's actually a good chunk of Smash players that started with Brawl (so in case you're wondering, yes, there's some nostalgia factor behind Brawl, just not as big in GameFAQs because of its age demographics). Pokemon performances cannot be proven to be a fraud. After all, if
Pokemon's performance is worse this contest, a whopping five years
later, it could simply be that Pokemon has weakened. Mewtwo, however, could still be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be a "fraud" if Mewtwo turns out to be weaker than Pikachu this contest. I suppose. I mean, there's no reason for them to swap positions in the Pokemon hiearchy, right? (in other words, that would mean Mewtwo's second place in the MM/Pika/M2 match was a fluke) "Ah,

you know earlier tonight this popped in my head - Falcon has a beastly early vote, and Sephiroth's is pathetic and then some - Falcon got close to Cloud in 2010 at the start but not enough to make Cloud threatened at all, Cloud was stronger then (so was Sephiroth!), and a night match iirc - The board vote is basically twice as effective now, making it that much more likely Falcon is beating or is terrifyingly close to Sephiroth at the start - Vivi > Mario in 2013, a very low vote totals contest, had Vivi scarily close to Mario at the start and never left him alone, despite Vivi normally being much weaker than Mario, partially due to people noticing how close the very start was - We're starting matches with a lot more Americans awake this year - We have terrible vote totals and Falcon has more rally material than Sephiroth does with Smash communities tl;dr if Falcon has like 49% on Sephiroth at the freeze, can we really trust Seph to keep Falcon away from him Born to lose, live to win! |

well because those were blatant overperformances that I thought everyone recognized at the time then everyone thought he was a Noble Nine breaker in 2013 I thought everyone would see the same thing about Mewtwo and now people think he's a Noble Nine breaker history repeats itself |
