I'll be keeping track of our vote totals to see if they improve after the domain name switch. I haven't checked out other users on GameFAQs are reacting to this change, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was some backlash to being associated with GameSpot again. I kind of want to rally a new Sonic character in if this summer's contest is a CB But I can't think of any Would any Sonic character be a welcome addition to the contest? Would Amy Rose ever have a shot of winning anything? Would Dr. Eggman be able to do any damage with the right placement? Would Big the Cat get any joke support at all? Would Rouge ride TJF to a narrow victory over Gordon Freeman? Is this Elite Beat Agents 2? |

my stance on that: every Sonic character that hasn't gotten in is guaranteed to be absolutely worthless except for maybe, maybe Metal Sonic. And Amy is absolutely worthless as is. I think she, if she got in again, would be way weaker than Eggman. Eggman though I think can win a match again. 2013 wasn't a bad year for him. Born to lose, live to win! For the first time ever Link looks to be not the strongest character. Breath of the Wild rally gives him the win. |

For
the next contest, we have 2 set nominations as a result of the previous
2 Guru winners. The Years Contest last year had no nomination process,
so the Guru winner from 2015 wasn't able to suggest a character or game
for us to nominate. Then you have the Guru winner from the Years
Contest as well. Ngamer has said that our past 2 Guru winners will each

"obvious" answer would be that Noctis should be the strongest new
character since the last contest, but I'm not actually sure of that
given I don't have a great grasp on how well FF15 is really received

remember one of the guru winners said he was strongly considering
nominating Aqua from Kingdom Hearts if the next contest was a character
battle. For potential newcomers not from recently released games, there's this: http://board8.wikia.com/wiki/New_Characters New characters from actual new games are, of course, largely worthless without rallies. Geralt and Last of Us characters are probably above the fodder-line and Joker, Aloy, and Undertale characters might at least come sorta close. That's all the credit I'll give! there aren't that many new characters post-2013 contest to consider.
Here are some games I may consider picking a character from... With
Smash characters I think Rosalina and Roy might be decent. idk about
anyone else though. Greninja and Villager are probably terrible though,
R.O.B. too (there's no way he's going to be stronger than friggin Game
and Watch). Also I am absolutely going to nominate a Cuphead character. Probably Cuphead himself. Maybe King Dice instead. Born to lose, live to win! Certified bandicoot enthusiast. |

like Blastoise would be the strongest (the latter would probably get

don't really think any of BotW's characters outside Link and Zelda
resonated with many people. Honestly if I were to pick a strongest
character beyond those two, I'd probably go Beedle since you'll see him a
lot, and even that I'm far from confident in that. Cappy intrigues me, but I'm kinda leading to near-fodder. He might surprise one way or the other. Outside of rallies, I'd guess strongest new character would be from a franchise that's gained popularity on GameFAQs. Geralt is pretty intriguing, and I'd imagine 2B would be more popular than her game, plus Persona 5 characters will probably do damn well. If you want to dive into rallies, I think Monika will be the next big target since DDLC is the latest hotness for obsessive indie fans and she's already developed a mini-cult of obsessives. Hell, she might be slightly above the fodder line as is considering DDLC did pretty well in GotY and our s*** votals means more obscure characters will look better. Not_Wylvane |
