That same spelling mistake was in the Assassin's Creed playrate poll, and yesterday's original Xbox ownership poll.

Hmm...Looking at some of the other late 2007 releases, I imagine we'll get a Mass Effect poll sometime in the next several days.

Speaking of Uncharted, should Sonic 2/Uncharted 2 from the last games contest be taken as an accurate indicator of how that match would go under "fair" conditions?

Maybe the results at the first hour, before heavy rallying started (~37-39%).

Though if someone wants to argue that Uncharted 2 would have broken 40% I don't think most people would put up a huge fight.

Most gurus expected Portal 2 to defeat Uncharted 2 in 2015 (50.25% vs. 13.71%).

Really? I would've picked Uncharted 2 without hesitation.

Now, if it was Portal 1 though...

Eh, Uncharted 2 didn't show that well in GOTD. I dunno who I'd have taken head-to-head, but I had Sonic 2 winning that fourpack so I didn't have to think about it much.

To be fair the board was big on Portal back then. Pre-contest most people felt that Sonic 2 would defeat Uncharted 2. Through Street Fighter IV, Uncharted 2 was expected to get 54.73% against Sonic Adventure 2 so it wasn't a huge stretch to think Sonic 2 would do better so it was logical for people to take the winner of Sonic 2/Portal 2 over Uncharted 2.

With Portal 1 performing poorly against Melee (along with older games performing well) by the time Sonic 2/Portal 2 came along the Oracle went against the Gurus giving an average prediction of Sonic 2 with 50.98% with 61/105 predicting Sonic 2 would win.

In the second round the Oracle predicted a Sonic 2 victory against Uncharted 2, getting 54.41%. This wasn't too far off of what Sonic 2 got against Portal 2 (53.17%) so the board felt the two games were close.

Seems like we aren't getting a playrate poll for Pokemon USUM.

It would have been an ownership poll if we did get one, though it's a shame we didn't get one since we had one for ORAS. Tomorrow's poll definitely won't be an ownership poll either. Although it's worth noting the ORAS poll happened a few days after it released due to its release date happening on the same day Smash 4 came out.

And is there any other character from OoT that has participated before aside from Link, Zelda and Ganondorf? (i.e. Sheik, Epona, Saria, etc.)

Just Epona

Besides those four, Groose, Midna and Tingle are the only other Zelda characters to have made the character battle

No, she did slightly worse against Ike in 2013 than Pikachu had in 2008.

Depending on what you're basing this off. Is this a "best" or "worst" console ever? Because I'm pretty sure the Virtual Boy would be pretty pointless in a "best" console contest, and the Vita would win by a fairly large margin (even if the Vita would be fodder anyway).

The Virtual Boy would get a lot of joke votes so I can see it winning that match.

I was kind of thinking that, but I don't think so.

I think this case is very similar to that of 1985 vs. 1987 in BYIG. The Atari may be a very well-respected console, being the first console (after the Magnavox Odyssey) to popularize home videogaming in general by many years and with lots of games. However, the Xbox would probably win solely for its game library.

The Xbox would win because it's freaking Xbox vs ancient history.

Normally, I could use that as an actual playrate poll, but the last option really screws up the entire poll. The last option contains 3 separate groups of voters:

1. Those who play Pokemon Go, but don't drive a car.

2. Those who don't play Pokemon Go, but do drive a car.

3. Those who don't play Pokemon Go and also don't drive a car.

Because of this, it's impossible to determine what percentage of those voters have played Pokemon Go. And then there's the third option, which may include some Pokemon Go players, although it says nothing about whether or not you've played it. Only the first, second, and fourth options actually state you've played Pokemon Go.

As a result of this poll's issues, I can't treat this as a valid playrate poll as it's not possible to draw any conclusions about the game's playrate through the current set of options.

Uncharted 2, and probably by a good margin. Skyward Sword is still pretty disliked in general and probably will remain so until it gets a remake.

Uncharted 2 would probably win. Groose proved you can't just throw anything Zelda at something and win, even if that something isn't very popular.

I'd play it safe and take Skyward Sword. I would go as far as to say that pretty much every mainline (console) Zelda game would work even as a low-midcarder (yes, this includes Zelda II as well). Other than that, the only portable Zelda I'd trust is Link's Awakening.

Characters =/= Games

You also have 2006 vs. 2011, but it's really difficult to read it since it encompasses the popularity of many games, so it's definitely not like saying "Skyward Sword literally beat Twilight Princess", but it's also not like Skyward Sword particularly hurt 2011's performance either. (You can also argue that 2006 lost because of KHII's absence in the match pics, but unless we had an actual rematch, we can't really add much to it.)

Don't use the years contest to prove anything other than how bad it was.

Skyward Sword is freaking weak dude.

Even though I hated what all happened in 2013 and 2015, years didn't even feel like a contest.

years is the kinda thing that would have been acceptable if normal contests were annual and it was just a side contest in between
