What would be your reaction after seeing this result?

1995 - 49%
1987 - 51%

Really shocked, because I bet CT could pull 45% on the entire NES library.

I would be quite surprised at 1987 beating 1995, but not the most shocked I've ever been. However, if round 1 pics get re-used, that would be the best thing possible for 1987's chances. Any pic changes would more than likely benefit CT (er, I mean, 1995) and more than likely hurt 1987, relative to the previous round.

Yeah, the years between 1987 & 1995 are very hard to determine. So are the years between 2003 & 2005, 1992 & 1998, & 1996 & 2000.

What I do know, is that 2008 is definitely going to be stomped by 2001, as well as 2011 getting stomped by 1994, 2002 being stomped by 1991, & 2007 being stomped by 1997.
Haste_2 5/11/2017 8:56:53 PM#404
Interesting how high people are going with 2001 predictions. If 1994 is even remotely close to 2001, and assuming 2008 is near 2004's level, 2001 shouldn't, well, do THAT well.... but time will tell.

Welp, we're getting Full Throttled. Let's see how Chrono Trigger fares against like 70% of the NES's big games.

My initial gut reaction is 2008 > 1987

So, nobody better submit pics for Full Throttle or any of these other games next round. He's got to use DKC2/Yoshi/Earthbound if they are the only submission he gets right?

I'm happy 1995 gets a win at all. It has the worst picture in the bracket, by far.
Sounds like we're getting eight pics per year in round three and on, so 1995 should be able to get everything it needs.
2001 is going to godstomp 1995 <_<

Holy crap, 1987. I knew you could look respectable. 1995 fell an absolute ridiculous amount. I can't even call for 1995 to win the match yet.

This performance from 1995 would suggest 1987 gets around 87% on 1986, something that I don't see being possible. So I guess there might be some kind of synergistic effect going on here with 1987's depth (despite being terribly weak 1v1 vs. CT) against a year which has very little depth beyond Chrono Trigger.

I'll definitely take Melee over Brawl. There's a reason why Melee is still being played in tournaments to this day & why Brawl isn't: Because Brawl failed to live up to the hype that Melee & Smash 4 did.
Full Throttle and co dropped quite a bit from the early board vote. It fell from 66 to 58 in four minutes. Hope this stabilizes!

And yes, 2001 is moonwalking into the semifinals regardless of what pictures 1995 gets.

Is that really that unplausible? There is no anchor or depth to 86 at all, so I could easily see just about any year with decent strength just clobber the f*** out of Bubble Bobble and whatever else.

I was thinking more like 84% for 1987 vs. 1986, which would put 1995 around 66% on 1987.

In an actual match, I think 1987 blows out 86 more than any other year, 98 and 01 included. Why vote for 86 when 87 is simply a much better NES year? I can see that match going into legendary percentages, like 93/7.

1987 would easily get 87% on 1986. Or even higher, considering generational SFF, however little it might be.
