2006 is one of the worst years in gaming, not sure why its doing this well tbh. Oh wait it has a Zelda...

2006 gave us the best game of all time so it's all good.

Dont say Oblivion...because that game is absolute s*** compared to Morrowind/Daggerfall/Fallout 1/2/New Vegas

No. Oblivion is like the one game I've tried to play (twice, even) that I end up dropping it like two hours in.

I'm talking about Xenosaga III.

I made a wish in the Oracle Challenge that the highest prediction for FFVI was going to win the match. It looks like the LOWEST prediction is going to win instead! I'm seriously worried 1991 is going to win... I have 1991 over 1994, but I like 1994 so much more. But, I was somewhat disappointed with SMW's performance. I seriously thought it might beat Chrono Trigger's percentage, but that was asking for too much, since '88 is obviously much stronger than '86.

So, uh, 1994 vs. 1995 - who wins in that matchup?

Yeah, it is nice to see a nailbiter, or at least close to that.

Why, 2006?

Why, why, why?

Why do you do it? Why, why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something? For more than your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it Twilight Princess? Or Oblivion? Perhaps Okami? Could it be for Gears of War? Illusions, 2006. Vagaries of perception. Temporary constructs of a feeble intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. You must be able to see it, 2006. You must know it by now. You can't win. It's pointless to keep fighting.

Why, 2006? Why? Why do you persist?

Lol if you seriously had 2006 going past next round.

It's also not over yet, so calm down. 2011 votes will mostly come from midnight-5am and 10pm-11:59. People who remember 2006 wake up for work around 6am, and those are the people still browsing this site.

So assuming that this result tells us that pictures matter, I wonder how important depth beyond 4 games really is. 2001 may have ridiculous depth but the average voter won't know beyond the 4 games shown unless they go on Wikipedia and check all the games released that year.

Once we have one match a day and the picsmiths get to work, they'll likely find creative ways to get at least 4-6 games, especially since all the years by that point would have decent enough depth since each year then would be quite strong

Without checking, Metacritic average? Maybe a few cases of Allen putting in games because he knows they're popular here/user request (back when he was asking us for omissions in the sticky topic)

Especially if it's like the Games Contest where we had those long pics in the last two rounds. There could be lots of room to work with.

Oh hey I'm finally on the leaderboard. I thought I submitted quite late so didn't ever expect to find myself there.

Picked 2011 (Dark Souls baby!) out of heart more than anything and if the current results hold it will be great for my bracket.

I've been doubting this for the past week and doubt it even more today. I think GameFAQs voters are knowledgeable enough to know about depth for certain big years.

Final Fantasy VII, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, GoldenEye 007, Mario Kart 64, Crash Bandicoot and Star Fox 64 are plenty for a match pic

i don't think they do, because KH2 being missing from the pic is costing 06 the match
And yes 2006 really got the short end of the stick concerning pictures (TP at last and no KH2). I love 2011 like anything but it doubt it will be doing this well if 2006 had even above average pic placement with KH2 on it.

RIP my bracket.

Also made it worse cause I voted for 2011 by accident.
Depending on how today's match finishes, even if you replaced MK9 with Portal 2 (to make it fair) and say Okami/Gears with KH2 to make it more "fair" it's possible 2011 even wins

Eww... 2006 was winning earlier? It's such a terrible year though. 2011 outdoes it even if you're just strictly comparing who has the better Elder Scrolls game.

Yeesh, hopefully all these people with incorrect opinions stop voting.

does anyone know what was the largest non-rally comeback in the last contest?
Joe Bulo says hi
Off the top of my head I'm gonna say LttP over MM? MM's lead was because of rally spillover, though.

that's the only non-rally comeback i can even remember, and even then it was a rally comeback in a way <_<
