Well 2011's got SS, a main console Zelda. Although considering how much Zelda fans hate SS, it's hard to judge how much of an asset that is, especially since 2006 has TP.

Sure, but two of the games in 2006's rotation are Western as well. If 2011 does get Zelda and Dark Souls, it'll be sending a very formidable collection of games to the front page (since Skyrim should be a lock), and its Western/Japan ratio will be the same as 2006's.

I'm hoping that SBAllen notices the parallels between the two years (both have Zelda, Elder Scrolls, and Gears of War) and plays it up so that Gears 3 curses 2011 lolz

KHII+TP vs Skyrim+SS

I don't trust Skyrim even if it's the number 2 viewed game on the site right now. And all Wii games are weak so SS is gonna get SFF to death. Is this really a debatable match?

Kingdom Hearts II won't be in the match picture given the wildcard match

2006 has, in order; Okami, Oblivion, Gears of War, Twilight Princess

Of course that should be enough to defeat anything 2011 has IMO.

The second match might be our first slugfest. 2011 got its top three games, including victory pose Link in the first pic.

My faith in 2011 is rising. You have to know some people will just see zelda as the first pic and auto vote.

That plus TP is the last pic even for those who have the patience to wait for 2 pics or more

That's like the best possible 1994 pic. Well, it should be Sonic 3 & Knuckles but SBAllen has a vendetta against it.

2004 makes me drool more, but this is GameFAQs; no illusions as to which year is gonna win.

1994 got its best picture, sadly no San Andreas for 2004. 2011 pretty much got its best picture, maybe Batman: Arkham City instead of Mortal Kombat.

I think so. At the very least, it probably neutralizes some of that "omg Mario AND Sonic" excitement that 1991 may generate against other years.

I feel like even if pics don't change at all, 1991 vs 1994 is perfectly fair since both years got the four best games they could have hoped for (maybe DKC is intrinsically stronger than S&K, but the Sonic games brings in a lot more variety).

Avoiding TP vs SS

Christ, 2006 has no KH2 at all with TP being the 4th pic. Meanwhile, SS and Skyrim are the first two pics of 2011.

If 2006 wins with the odds stacked against it (especially if it wins easy), then that's the final confirmation that the last decade - every single year in it sans maybe 2008 - is complete garbo on GameFAQs.

Oh, and it's funny that neither Halo 2 nor San Andreas made the picture. Those were definitely 2004's most hyped games.

Bleh, looks like handhelds are getting shafted. 1993 should definitely have Link's Awakening, 2013 should have its GotY, and Fire Emblem 7 could've replaced Final Fantasy X-2 or Disgaea.

Eh, I guess handheld representation could have been even worse, but I agree that 2013 was shortchanged without ALBW. A fair number of people took the 2013 > 2003 upset and may have been banking on getting the GotY in the pic.

I picked 2013 on accident. Looking at it now, it's fairly even except for Wind Waker. ALBW would have helped immensely.

it's at least counterbalanced with putting X-2 for 2003 on there which I assume would be really weak/anti-voted/almost a non-factor.

X-2 came in second in GOTY

just tells you how bad 2003 was...!

I don't think X-2 is a net negative though because the FF name is always worth something regardless of which game it is.

I don't think people will anti-vote a year just because of a game. Like 1997 didn't have the usual FF7 board vote, right?

Well, it looks like Bloodborne got shafted here. And in favor of Rocket League instead. I don't really agree with placing Rocket League in the match picture, since now we've got 2 indie games featured here. I admit to being wrong about claiming Life is Strange being an indie game, but Rocket League is definitely an indie game.

At least I was right about The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 appearing in the match picture.
