save_us.rat

I really loved the "Save_us.rat" tagline. Still makes me smile.

I was one of the original L-Block fanboys, but I turned against it once it was clear it might win the entire contest.

Every indication from the 2015 contest was that 2012 was indeed that bad...!
2012 is the worst. it would lose to every year from 1987-2016.

Nah, 2012 might be the weakest post-2000 year in the contest. It's got games with dedicated fanbases, but they're relatively small.

I too expect 2012 to be the weakest outside of the vote-in years (I'd take 1981 over it though) and 1986.

I expect it to gain though, 2009 gained 5% from the board vote

Although at the same time, 2007 should be weaker than 2008, canceling out any advantage 2009 has over 2012.

there is plenty of wiggle room for 2009 to still beat 2012 based on the current percentages

I was expecting 2012 to get beaten worse than 1999. 1999 would destroy 2012. We're only one update in, though.

X-Stats from yesterday:

2008 – 50.00%
2009 – 28.17%
1979 – 10.64%
Every match so far has been more than a doubling

That should presumably change tomorrow, but who really knows...!

9 people fell off the Top 50. Former third place 16-BITTER, Anagram, Takato, Asrun_Dream, wilson_eh, LIsJustice, pendude, Mega_Mana and X_Dante_X did not have both 2001 and 2008 winning.
My bracket got smashed by DpObliVion.

2012 is a year where the strongest game is either Mass Effect 3 or Xenoblade Chronicles. Still didn't expect it to get dumpstered this badly though!

1999 might be getting Final Fantasy SFFed *and* generational SFFed. Take these results with a grain of salt.
I reflexively voted for 97 and then thought about it and for a second suspected that Sonic Adventure was my favorite game from either year

But thankfully I had forgotten about SotN so my vote was correct after all

Looking at the results here, I still like 2001 over 1997 later in the contest. I don't see 1999 putting up this kind of performance on 2014.

Allen was pretty mean to match up FF7 and FF8 in the match pic rotation. That's brutal for 1999.
