Is there XV music to blast to, not familiar with the soundtrack yet.
Well, you haven't gotten to my favorite FFXV track, so I won't post it.

It's still a work in progress as I am currently working on getting the updates inputted into the spreadsheet.

I like Shimomura but wish Uematsu would come back or Hamauzu would take up the reigns indefinitely.
Thanks!

At this time yesterday, Pokemon had a bigger lead on FF15.
Black Turtle did a pretty good job.
Finally got around to inputting the current updates from today's poll into the spreadsheet. Still working on those trend charts.

1994 votes at the end of the first hour. Granted, there was some spillover at the start of the poll. Looking at the number of votes submitted from 12:30 AM to 1:00 AM (660 votes), our actual first hour vote total should have been very similar to yesterday's poll. I'm guessing we got about maybe 300-350 extra votes in the first hour from the spillover.

This poll should be on track for about 16500 to 19500 votes today.

Now would you look at that. It's almost as if Uncharted 4 being removed barely makes a difference.

Which is why Undertale annihilating those dorks was great.

The Pokemon fanbase actually made quite a difference themselves in Undertale's favor because apparently they hate gen 1.

If you compare yesterday to today, UC4 was pretty clearly pulling votes from FF15. Pokemon still wins now that it'll get rallied, but still.

The rallying is minimal and clearly there is rallying from both sides. The poll was too close the whole time for anything else to be the case.

Everyone (except Leon) was acting Uncharted 4 was a major drawback to Final Fantasy XV, pretty clearly it was an extremely little amount if any.

This match is extremely similar to yesterday's even though Uncharted 4 is absent.
No matter your determination, you will never be good enough to be both the Last Man Standing and the top Guru in 2015 like DpOblivion!
Just like yesterday, the time period from about 7:30 AM to 9:15 AM was a rough patch for Pokemon Sun/Moon. The same thing is happening today as well.

it was almost as good as Melee fans thinking they could out-rally Undertale because they beat CT and FFVII lawl
Oh wow, FFXV is actually winning outright in the U.S. and crushing it (relatively speaking) in Canada. That's kind of surprising.
These updates are getting insane now. That last update was a 38 vote gain for FFXV.

Do votestuffing rules apply to Game of the Year polls?
"The people who play Final Fantasy 7 actually have lives and dont NEED polls" ~MajinUltima
Now owned by DpOblivion.
I don't think they would apply. The reason why vote stuffing isn't allowed in the contests is because there is prize money at stake in the contest, plus there are a lot of legal issues when it comes to the contests. Without banning vote stuffing in the contests, someone could cheat their way to a prize and that is the primary reason why it has be prevented at all costs.

Without any prizes or legal issues involving the GotY polls, there is no incentive to prevent vote stuffing.

Nobody said they weren't active.

But if somebody's vote stuffing manages to get by those measures (like, say, those dastardly no-goodnik Monkey Island fans) yet is still detectable upon analysis, Allen probably doesn't bother removing the votes like he would in a contest poll.

We're about 3000 votes ahead of yesterday's poll putting us on pace at around 23-25k.
Congrats to DpObliVion for winning the guru.
Some initial stats looking at the 14 countries with the traditionally highest vote total (the ones where you can click for more details).

- FFXV is performing better than expected in 12/14 nations with Brazil and the Philippines supporting Pokemon S&M by more than expected.

- On average 64.25% of Uncharted 4’s percent went to Final Fantasy XV though remember there are more/different people voting today

- Finland and New Zealand had the largest shifts in support for FFXV with more than 100% of Uncharted 4’s percent going to it. Perhaps this is where some of the rallied votes are coming from.

- On the other side almost 100% of Uncharted 4’s percent has gone to Pokemon S&M in the Philippines, signifying a rally over there.
Congrats to DpObliVion for winning the guru.

Pretty sure the current results back me up man. System overlap is a very real thing. Most of us are smart enough to know this too, which is why something like Mega Man beating Charizard was so nuts.
Ulti at work.
LFF doesn’t mean auto-lose. Charizard was already proven to be overrated before that match; going even with Zelda meant he was closer to 55% on Kratos than 46% on Mario. Mega Man would easily clear 55% and perhaps push for 60% on Zelda.

What made Mega Man winning impressive was that he won a down to the buzzer match against the Poke-rally.
Congrats to DpObliVion for winning the guru.
Mega Man winning that match still feels unreal. Pretty sure it's the only time that Pokemon has ever lost a close match (Undertale doesn't count).
Black Turtle did a pretty good job.

Oh, nice. We're already at yesterday's vote totals.

I guess a legit contest match could still draw 25000-30000 without rallying, which is still kind of sad, but at least it means we won't have 1-on-1s where the winner gets less than 10000 votes.

He's talking about the difference between 'hardcore fanbase' and 'general public'. Same way board 8 cares tons about contests, most of the site doesn't. RBY has general appeal, SuMo appeals more to the core.

That "no rally" match you just mentioned actually had a ton of spillover votes from the previous match as well as Undertale fans waiting a day to vote for their game again, so they were definitely swarming GameFAQs that day.

Call it the mom test. "Your mom" is the ultimate casual.

Does your mom know who Pikachu is? Probably. Does she know who Mimikyu is? I highly doubt it. Same way your mom knows who Indiana Jones is but probably has no idea who Nathan Drake is.

It works for every form of entertainment. You need the casuals to have a boom period. Your mom probably knows who Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin are. I very much doubt she knows Daniel Bryan or Kenny Omega.

Yeah, if you're looking at "minimal spillover," look at the end of the previous round, where SMRPG/MGS3 got 60,000 votes, which is still quite a lot. SMRPG/RE4 the round before got 40,000.
