~*Say What? Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings (X-Stats) - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

LPF - Last Place Factor, which a term used in matches that have three or four entrants. Usually when there is an obvious choice for last place, that entrant performs weaker than usual since voters are smart enough these dates to put their votes on something that matters. A good example is Link/Shepard/Draven.

ASV - After school vote, which is usually the biggest trend in a poll other than the first hour and the morning vote.

Typically, we get an upcoming original title (and sequel) poll right after the GotY polls, but I see nothing like that coming up based on known polls we've had in the past. Now, I'm only able to figure out the poll question of an upcoming poll if it matches the exact question of a previously run poll.

Where does the "FF15 is disappointing" narrative come from? The game is fantastic. Reminds me a lot of 12, except you're actually playing the game instead of auto battling.

Based on how fast UC4 is dropping there's a rally going on.

Take 10 years to come out and there's no way to not be disappointing to someone.

10 hours in and it's pretty great. Battle system is a still a little weird to me though. Feels like Last Story in that it's an action RPG where you're kinda auto-attacking instead of the usual 1:1 button press to attack feel.

The Nintendo Switch conference won't be happening until 11:00 PM EST tomorrow night, so the January 13th poll should be directly related to the information revealed from the conference.

Times like these makes me want to get some friends and family to vote.

The battle system is basically "stab everything in the ass".

And hold down square a lot.

Another 0.06% drop from UC4, this is pretty crazy

We saw what happened to Zero in the Charizard/Mega Man affair during the last Character Battle. Zero was bleeding percentage fast near the end of that match. We're seeing a similar thing with UC4 in this poll.

I will always believe UC4 took zero votes from Pokemon in this match and hurt FF15 more than enough to get Pokemon the win.

We're definitely experiencing spillover from the previous poll with how high the vote totals are.

How did FFXII do compared to post Gen II Pokemon in the last two game contests?

Curious to see where XV lands in the hierarchy. Safe to say better than XIII I'd wager.

This happened in 2008, too.

The last minute rush was actually mostly FF15 dying at the end. SM got 4 more votes than the previous update while FF15 went down by 9.

GS is okay and RSE is kiiiiiiiiinda okay too, but I'm sorry, the original 151 is iconic. Everything after that is loved only by internet memes and the fanbase.

I don't know, because Sun/Moon had an impressive 62.69% directly on FFXV at the freeze in yesterday's poll. It's much lower at the freeze today.

It went from 51 to 62. Pokemon already slowing down GG CALLED get rekt.
