Usually I wouldn't do an contest match style analysis for a regular PotD, but I'll be doing that for tomorrow's poll. I already posted this analysis in the politics topic, but I guess I'll post it here as well.

Luster Soldier's Prediction: Hillary Clinton - 67.74%

Hillary Clinton put up 61.17% directly vs. Donald Trump in that US election poll we had a few days ago, so I was off by about 6.5%.

How much do you think SFF was a factor in the president poll?

I haven't gotten a chance to talk about it yet, but I want to compare the release day ownership of Pokemon X/Y to that of Pokemon Sun/Moon.

X/Y had an ownership of 30.12% on release day, while Sun/Moon was only 27.23% on release day. However, X/Y had the advantage of getting a worldwide release on the same day. Perhaps as a result of some stores in Europe (mainly in Italy and the UK) selling the game early, Europe got punished by getting ORAS 7 days later than the rest of the world and 5 days later in the case of Sun/Moon. The simple fact that Sun/Moon wasn't available in Europe on the day of the Sun/Moon poll may have hurt the ownership of the game somewhat. Even after this small detail has been taken into consideration when looking at Sun/Moon's release day ownership, I don't think Sun/Moon was going to end up with a higher release day ownership than X/Y.

Really? It's only a little bit less than 3% and from a quick glance at the map, the "not yet" option is doing quite a bit better in Europe. I guess though Europe isn't that great an amount of the votes.

Ahaha that Xbone ownership rate.

I wouldn't use this poll to suggest that the Xbox One has a terrible ownership rate. FFXV was always going to be far more popular on PS4 than Xbox One.

It doesn't define it, but it definitely speaks bad things for it.

FFXV had 28.46% ownership on the release day. For comparison, Sun/Moon had 27.23% ownership on release day, though it wasn't available in Europe yet. When factoring in Europe, Sun/Moon's ownership on release day is roughly equal to that of FFXV.

As to how the 2 games perform in the GotY polls, it will come down to how well the games were received after people have gotten a chance to play them. FFXV has more potential to be a disappointment, especially after FFXIII.

This poll is so weird. When the poll first started, the Beef option was somehow excluded from the poll. Right around 1:57 AM EST, the Beef option was added to the poll, making it only the second time I witnessed an option added to a poll that is currently in progress.

The addition of the Beef option has caused some issues with the poll maps, as you can see in this screenshot:

Basically, the percentages are based off the following options:

Newly added Beef option acquired its percentage from the votes of the Former Chicken option
Former Chicken option acquired its percentage from the votes of the Former Fish option
Former Fish option acquired its percentage from the votes of the Former Lamb/Mutton option
Former Lamb/Mutton option acquired its percentage from the votes of the Former Pork option
Former Pork option acquired its percentage from the votes of the Former Turkey option
Former Turkey option acquired its percentage from the votes of the Former Other option
Former Other option acquired its percentage from the votes of the Former "None, I don't eat meat" option
The current "None, I don't eat meat" option acquired its percentage from the votes made after the Beef option was added


This has ultimately created a huge mess in both the poll maps and the poll graphs. Hopefully both the poll maps and the poll graph data can be fixed later on.

In that poll, the PSP option was missing from the poll when it started. The PSP option was added to the poll about 45 minutes into the poll.

Only the poll map data was corrected, meaning the results for each country/region were corrected. The poll graph data is still messed up, since it shows that Beef finished with a final vote total of 6477 when it really finished with 4750 votes (on the poll results page).

Hmmm, not sure if this exactly the right place for this, but I figure someone might know.

Why is GTA: San Andreas in the Top 10 Most Popular Games right now?

It's only on the Top 10 Games when you combine every single system it's been released on. This is the classic Top 100 list:

Looks like we get a playrate poll for the original Final Fantasy today.

Compared to the previous time we had a playrate poll for the original Final Fantasy (back on 12/18/2012), there is a substantial increase in the playrate for today's poll. The playrate was only 59.04% in the 12/18/2012 poll, while the playrate is currently at 66.81% in today's poll.

I plan on tracking today's poll since the 2013 version of this poll had extreme trends and I didn't track the 2013 poll because I didn't think it would have extreme trends. I remember being surprised when there was a huge change in the results when compared to the 2:00 AM update in the 2013 poll.

This time around, I won't make the same mistake by not tracking the poll. Although thanks to the poll graph data, I can usually get away with not tracking poll updates since I know GameFAQs will have the update data instead.

Right now, the early results in today's poll are much different than the final results of the 2013 poll. So we'll probably see some extreme trends in today's poll.

We might just see 2 successful comebacks of 600+ votes in today's poll. There was already a comeback from 774 votes down and the option that completed the comeback built up a lead of 668 votes. Now the same option which blew a 774 vote lead is on track to comeback from 668 down with about 4 1/2 hours remaining.
