Now that we have made it to September, this month will be important because we should get a contest announcement pretty soon if we are going to have a contest before the end of the year.

Well, he was right that we'd need a contest announcement before this point if we're actually going to have a 2016 contest. We probably won't now unless it's something small, and Allen doesn't do small.

That's what my earlier quoted post was trying to say here. I figured if we didn't get a contest announcement before the end of September, there wouldn't be a contest this year.

Since Allen confirmed the details of the next contest were discussed with CBSi and have mostly been finalized at this point, this would hint towards a Winter or Spring 2017 contest. Still possible in theory that we get a contest announcement before the end of this year, if we are getting a Winter 2017 contest.

On the other hand, if we keep waiting, maybe the Overwatch community will shrink and they won't be as interested in rallying one of their characters to the title.

I think this site's almost irrelevant enough now that nobody will give a s*** about rallying for our contests anymore. Might take another year or two though to reach that point.

We were super irreleveant enough back then in 2013 but it didn't stop /r/lol
Even if you do the 2013 contest today, there will be the same results

The results wouldn't be the same because they banned rallying. Mewtwo was on route to winning against Draven without Reddit's support.

Huh, I'm kinda surprised Metroid is crushing this poll so hard. I guess because it's been so long since the last "traditional" Metroid.

but people will forever want another Super Metroid 2.0 or Metroid Prime 2.0 and it doesn't seem like it's going to happen so they should probably not get their hopes up

This poll only ran for 10 hours, 17 minutes when a new poll was put up shortly after the Switch was finally announced. Vote totals on this poll would have been estimated at about 14500 votes had it ran for a full 24 hours. As for the trend charts, the first 4 time periods (EBV, PHV, FNV, and BSV) were handled like they normally would be for a regular poll. The only change is that the DSV lasts just 1 hour, 17 minutes.

"Yes, I've got nothing better to do" started off with a weak board vote and Power Hour and maintained that weakness throughout the night vote. It started performing much better after 8:00 AM when people were getting ready for the NX announcement. At 8:00 AM, "Yes, I've got nothing better to do" had 13.45% and gained a total of 1.29% over the final 2 hours, 17 minutes of this poll. The poll was ultimately closed at 10:17 AM, so I have no idea how the trends would have played out over a full 24 hours. This option was still gaining percentage even after the reveal of the Switch, a trend that probably would have continued for at least another 30 minutes or longer before the percentage gains slowed down or stabilized.

"Yes, I'll be skipping school/work" had very similar trends to "Yes, I've got nothing better to do", with a weak board vote and Power Hour. The night vote was just as bad as the Power Hour, but it started performing much better once the morning vote kicked in. From 6:00 AM until the poll closed at 10:17 AM, "Yes, I'll be skipping school/work" managed to gain a total of 1.11% (going from 3.94% to 5.05%).

"Not live, but I'll watch it" started off with a strong board vote and Power Hour. It continued to remain strong for the first 2 hours of the night vote before it dropped off hard. Finally, it dropped off even harder during the final 2 hours of the poll, which were also the 2 weakest hours for "Not live, but I'll watch it".

"I won't watch, but I'll read the news" started off with a strong board vote and above average Power Hour. It performed best during the night vote and early morning vote, but dropped off hard during the final 2 hours of the poll.

"No, I really don't care about it" had a terrible board vote and Power Hour. It performed best during the late night vote and early morning vote before dropping off near the end of the poll.

This poll started at 10:17 AM and ran for a total of 13 hours, 43 minutes. The vote totals from this poll project it to get about 17500 votes had this poll ran for a full 24 hours. For the trend charts, the Power Hour runs from 10:17 AM to 11:20 AM, DSV runs from 11:20 AM to 2:30 PM, and no changes were made to the start/end times for the ASV and SNV.

"I'm absolutely hyped" had a strong board vote and Power Hour. After that strong Power Hour, it proceeded to bleed percentage for the entire poll. After the Power Hour ended, "I'm absolutely hyped" went on to lose a total of 3.62% for the rest of the poll (23.72% to 20.10%).

"I'm interested" started out with a weak board vote, but quickly recovered from the board vote to finish with a slightly below average Power Hour. Overall, this option had fairly consistent hourly trends.

"It's exactly what I thought it would be" also had fairly consistent hourly trends throughout the entire duration of this poll.

"I'm skeptical" started out with a terrible board vote and Power Hour. After the first 4 hours of this poll, it started performing much better for the rest of this poll. After the Power Hour ended, "I'm skeptical" gained a total of 4.68% for the rest of poll (21.32% to 26.00%).

"I'm unimpressed" had fairly consistent hourly trends for the entire poll and has no notable trends worth noting down here.

Man, how far has MGS2 fallen that it's still getting crushed despite how much it stands out?

I would easily take it over any GTA game.

Yep...three Square games, three GTA games, and two GT games yet MGS2 still falls well short. I don't see MGS3 doing this bad in the same position.
