Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 1260 - The Coronation, Plus Grudge Matches!
My opinion on CT: It'll maul FFVII and essentially every non-OoT, non-rallied entity from after its era... but I think it would have a difficult time with the other two SNES powerhouses, SMW and LttP. This is doubly true if we ever have a retro games contest where those two games carry the Nintendo's flag. I'm not that confident in it. Look at how well LTTP held up. That is super bandwagoned Melee's floor on Gamefaqs, I think, before rallies. And according to Bacon, Melee did better among registered users against UT than Ocarina did. It could have been as strong as OOT through bandwagoning alone, before rallying. is probably benefiting more from Undertale spillover than any other
game. I need to wait for registered user numbers (or the second half of
the match at least) to even semi-confidently call an actual RBY/SM64

is probably beating down on Mario 64 because there might some Tumblr
rally spillover. We'll see what happens to RBY later today when most of
the spillover has died down. Judging from the results in this contest, I would have been surprised if Mario 64 was the strongest Mario with all of the SNES domination this year. Starting
to adjust X-stats now. It's tricky because the OoT/FF9 match makes it
look so bad compared to CT (and the SMRPG match isn't much better

might also help to get registered user breakdowns for all of these
matches, since it would allow us to filter out the spillover votes and
then we can slightly adjust the registered user numbers based on what
