You need to have an influential blog or a direct path to an influential blog (that would actually be interested in promoting your rally). Without a preexisting presence on the site you can't really do anything. Well, I sent a few bloggers a politely worded "ask" anyway to tell them about the match tomorrow and whether they could maybe post about it. I'm 95% sure it won't amount to anything, but hey I tried. |

When a group with effectively unlimited rally potential tried to beat Link by rallying, they faced a 35% backfire rate. One out of three votes went to him. And OoT's GameFAQS' strength is titanic. It could and would easily 75-25 Round 1 Undertale and make it look like garbage. Assume we get 60k votes from GameFAQS only because it's a final (which should be much higher in actuality, but I'm using values that make our site look far more pathetic than it actually is for the sake of making this point) and that that backfire proportion holds. Undertale needs to rally 90k votes just to match OoT in that situation. Do you have any idea how difficult that is? Undertale can't win if GameFAQS doesn't support it. It needs, NEEDS to have been embraced by our site to get the win. And it's a very hard to answer whether it will have found that kind of acceptance in time for its match tomorrow. --- Remember when you were young? No longer bearing the mark of Kan. Today
match is getting far more spillover than any previous matches that
happen after an Undertale match. All of the previous spillover matches
have never managed to get more than 23000 votes in the first 6 hours,
while today's match is looking like it will have about 31600 votes after
6 hours. Looks like we could get least 80000 votes today, although I

...Because it's f***ing OoT. That is literally all that needs be said on this subject. Are you seriously trying to argue this with me? We went from Ultimate Draven doubling Ryu and X combined and having a backfire rate of something like 5% or so to having a neck and neck match with Link in the immediately following round. Zelda doesn't care about how brokenly powerful you are, it's a series that is too goddamn heavily respected to not cause any rallies against it to massively backfire. We went through this song and dance of 'a match against Zelda is gonna be close!' once already in 2013 Nanis. Let's not argue this over and over again, shall we? --- Remember when you were young? That's
unlikely to happen because we're not going to have such high votals
again (I think. I would be happy to be proven wrong!). There aren't two
rallying forces here, not on the level of what Melee was doing. GameFAQS
strength matters a whole lot more here compared to general Internet
strength. If we open the match with beastly 200k-ish votals again I'll
take that back, but until then it has to be assumed that the finals

I just checked the results. This is what I have to say: SMRPG doing worse than I expected. Eh whatever. Also what happened to yesterday's match? I checked it just once near 7 hours after the start and that was it. More than 175.000 votes? Man if we could only get 20.000 votes more we could surpass every other poll in gamefaqs history! Team Rocket Elite posted... Only 12 out of the top 1042 brackets got the match right. That's actually pretty much dead on with the overall prediction percentage. 38 people with Undertale in the finals are within 63 points of the top non-Undertale bracket so if you don't have Undertale winning, prize money is unlikely. Melee vs. Undertale was the final. Today and tomorrow's matches are just formalities at this point. If Melee won yesterday, then Ocarina was probably going to win the contest. But Undertale won, and Zelda is f***ed. I don't understand how people can honestly believe that Ocarina is somehow going to get the rallying Melee did. And even a bump in GameFAQs vote isn't going to mean s***. Zelda can get 100% of that 60k and still get its teeth kicked in. Undertale isn't the underdog in this match. mean, it's true that Melee would still probably win, but it'd be a much
easier battle for Zelda than a battle against Undertale would be. Regardless, I agree with XIII that there's absolutely no reason to entertain the idea that a 'close dogfight' will happen.
