Melee's community has strived to make it popular for years, and has succeeded. It knows the hardships of being mostly grassroots, and now that it has a huge scene and an overabundance of huge tournaments many people feel it doesn't need to take the spotlight from up and coming games that have nothing to do with melee. The biggest problem with Undertale's strongest challengers is that the games involved have a bit of negativity around them. Gen 1 has a bad stigma in the Pokemon fanbase and Melee has a bit of drawback due to the whole perception about its competitive scene among more casual players, etc. This could turn ugly. |

ALL of those regions are all for UT with not a single one for SSBM; and some of those regions have smaller SSBM communities and interact with other smashers on twitter. Next match, another plot twist: SMRPG rsff OOT, winning by over 60%. SMRPG puts up a 10k vote lead at the freeze. Undertale cuts it all after 2 updates. Facebook, twitter, instagram, reddit, 4chan and even tumblr change its logos to a picture of SMRPG and a link to the match, asking votes for it. SMRPG gets a 20k spike, but Undertale fights back with a 21k spike! This goes on for the remainder of the day. Final update, all hope seems lost, until suddenly, a worldwide broadcast asking for votes for SMRPG. The final update rolls in, and SMRPG wins by a margin of 2 votes with a total of 2,340,524 votes. Book it, it's gonna happen! |

It's reasonable to think the votes there are 4 to 1. That's hardly where

Krozuck posted... Console gaming is probably not very big in those regions where as PCs probably are. That's true -- but it's also equally unlikely that a game like UT is going to have much bigger audience than the console audience in regions like Asia. |
